Build around the skills your Identities can actually use, not just a shared affinity color. First choose the resonance or resource plan you want, then compare each Identity’s skills and passives against the encounter’s enemies, resistances, and demands. Sin Resonance rewards selecting multiple skills of the same affinity; Absolute Resonance requires three or more of that affinity in a consecutive chain.
What Sin Affinity and Resonance do
Every skill has one of seven Sin Affinities: Wrath, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Gloom, Pride, or Envy. Selecting two or more skills of the same affinity on the Dashboard forms regular Resonance. Selecting at least three of the same affinity consecutively forms Absolute Resonance. Depending on the skill and passive conditions, resonance can activate additional effects; it can also provide Offense or Defense Level gains.

Affinity is not the same as attack type. A skill’s affinity matters for resonance, E.G.O resource generation, and interactions with an enemy’s Sin Resistances. Its attack type is a separate property to consider when evaluating a matchup.

Build the team in six steps
- Choose your plan. Decide whether the team is primarily meant to form one affinity’s resonance, support a status or resource synergy, or combine those goals. Resonance is one team-building approach, not a requirement for every lineup.
- Inspect the Identities you own. For each candidate, check the affinity and attack type of its skills, then read the relevant skill effects and passives. Note whether they reward a particular affinity or a resonance condition. A lineup with several skills of one color is useful only if those skills and effects support the plan.
- Match the encounter. Consider enemy attack types, Sin Resistances, and the encounter’s mechanics. A resonance chain is not automatically worth pursuing if it leaves the team poorly suited to the enemies or the fight’s demands.
- Check E.G.O resource access. Look at which Sin resources the team’s skills generate and whether that supply supports the E.G.O you expect to use. This makes resource generation part of the team plan rather than an afterthought.
- Favor dependable patterns over impressive peaks. Ask how often the skills likely to be available can form the intended resonance, and whether the conditional effects justify any loss in matchup coverage. This is a practical comparison method, not a published ranking or numerical scoring system.
- Use a team builder if it helps. Prydwen and Great Limbus Library offer tools for selecting Sinners, Identities, and E.G.O equipment or inspecting team synergies. Treat them as planning aids, not proof that a particular composition is optimal.
Compare two candidate lineups
When choosing between teams, compare them against the same encounter and the same E.G.O plan. No universal numerical score is established for these factors, so use them to expose trade-offs rather than to claim a definitive ranking.

Why there is no universal resonance team
The best fit depends on your owned Identities, the skills available in the fight, enemy resistances, encounter mechanics, and the E.G.O you plan to use. The mechanics support evaluating a lineup by its resonance pattern and kit synergies, but they do not establish one best-in-slot lineup for every resonance type or game mode. Check current in-game skill and passive descriptions before committing to a specific composition; Identity kits and balance can change.
