Rebuild your Raider Skill Tree for Frozen Trail 2.0 instead of copying an old allocation. The October 8, 2026 update reshaped the tree around mutually exclusive choices: the middle of each branch now presents one of two skills, while the branch endings let you select from three skills at each of two investment gates. Your best build therefore depends on whether you value movement, carrying and resilience, or looting and field utility.
This guide uses Embark’s official tree description and the current guide values reported for the October 2026 version. Embark has warned that further tuning is likely, so verify every skill description in your client before confirming a costly respec.

What changed in the Frozen Trail 2.0 skill tree?
Embark describes Frozen Trail 2.0 as a substantial redesign of the Raider Skill Tree. The old middle-node structure was replaced by a single path with a binary choice. You can select only one of the two skills at that point, and changing your selection later requires resetting the tree. At the end of each branch are two more choice nodes. Each end node offers three skills, but your investment determines how many of those choices you can actually take. Read the official explanation in Embark’s Frozen Trail 2.0 update notes.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThat structure makes early points more consequential. A branch is no longer just a list of individually purchased bonuses: reaching a gate commits you to a role, and a reset is the price of changing direction. Do not treat a pre-Frozen Trail allocation as a reliable template.
#1 Best Overall
| Tree area | Choice structure | Planning implication |
|---|---|---|
| Early branch | Regular skills along the branch | Use these points to establish the branch whose core effect matches your objective. |
| Middle branch node | Choose one of two skills | Compare the two descriptions before spending; only one can be active at a time. |
| First branch ending | Three skills offered; first end choice reported at 30 points | Reach this gate only when the branch is important enough to justify taking an end option. |
| Second branch ending | Three skills offered; second end choice reported at 40 points | Going to 40 points is a major commitment and leaves fewer points for the other branches. |
These structural rules are official. The exact point gates and point totals below come from a third-party guide rather than Embark’s update excerpt, so treat them as current-version guide values, not permanent guarantees.
Current point totals, gates and reset cost
TheArcRaiders.com’s guide, updated October 8, 2026 and cross-checked on October 9 against two community datasets, reports the following values for the Frozen Trail 2.0 tree:
| System value | Current reported figure | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Base skill points | 76 points at level 75 | Plan a complete level-75 allocation around 76 points, then confirm your own total in-game. |
| Middle choice gate | 10 points invested in a branch | At 10 points, compare the two mutually exclusive middle skills. |
| First end choice | 30 points invested in a branch | This is the reported threshold for the first end-node choice. |
| Second end choice | 40 points invested in a branch | This is the reported threshold for the second end-node choice. |
| Full reset price | 2,000 Coins per point | Changing an established plan can be expensive, so inspect descriptions before confirming. |
The guide-reported 76-point total and 10/30/40 gates are snapshots of the October 2026 version. If a later patch changes a gate, the in-game tree takes precedence. The same applies to the 2,000-Coins-per-point reset price: check the confirmation screen before accepting a reset.

Choose an objective before assigning points
There is no authoritative statistic showing a universally optimal tree, and Embark has not published win-rate or effectiveness data for individual skills. Start with the activity you want the tree to make easier, then decide which branch deserves a 30- or 40-point commitment.
Movement-focused PvP
Choose this if surviving engagements depends on reaching cover, taking a better angle, or escaping after a fight. The guide places Mobility around stamina and traversal: sprinting, climbing, rolling, vaulting and movement chains. These effects are most relevant when your decisions involve constant repositioning rather than long stationary looting.

- Make Mobility your primary branch and consider taking it to the 30- or 40-point gate.
- At the 10-point middle node, select the option that best supports your actual movement pattern. A sprint-oriented player may value sustained travel, while a player who chains vaults, rolls and climbs should favor the description that improves those transitions.
- Use the end-node descriptions to choose between the two available options that fit your fights; do not select by name alone.
- Put remaining points into Conditioning if surviving damage or carrying ammunition matters more than additional loot speed.
The trade-off is opportunity cost: pushing Mobility to 40 leaves fewer points for carry capacity, resilience, searching and crafting. A movement build is not automatically the best choice for a squad whose main goal is extracting with a large haul.
Carrying and resilience
Choose Conditioning when your runs are limited by encumbrance, damage recovery or the ability to remain effective after a setback. The current guide associates this branch with carry weight, resilience and related survival effects.
Recommended Free Tools
- Use Conditioning as the branch you take to 30 or 40 points if your route routinely produces more loot than you can carry.
- At the middle choice, compare the two options against your failure pattern: one may be more valuable when overloaded, while the other may matter when hurt or downed. The client description is the final authority because values can change.
- Use Mobility as the secondary branch when you need enough stamina and traversal to reach extraction safely.
- Spend a small remainder in Survival only when a specific looting or repair effect solves a repeated problem; avoid scattering points simply to touch every branch.
This setup gives up some specialist looting and crafting power. It is designed for players who would rather leave with a smaller number of high-value items than spend an entire raid searching every container.
Looting and field utility
Choose Survival when the purpose of a raid is efficient searching and on-the-ground maintenance. The guide groups searching, stealth while looting, crafting, recycling and in-raid repairs under this branch.
- Make Survival the branch you consider for the 30- or 40-point gate.
- Use the middle binary choice to support your route: a stealth-oriented option suits contested containers, while a crafting, recycling or repair option suits a player who stays in the field longer.
- Keep enough Mobility for the traversal required by your extraction routes. A loot build that cannot reach an exit is not efficient.
- Add Conditioning when encumbrance is the limiting factor; extra search speed has less value if you must abandon items or make multiple trips.
The trade-off is direct combat performance. You are investing in information, materials and maintenance rather than maximizing movement chains or damage resilience.

Three practical starting allocations
The following are planning templates, not official builds or statistically proven metas. They use the guide-reported 76-point level-75 total to illustrate what each commitment costs. Read the live descriptions and adjust the final few points to your squad and route.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →| Goal | Mobility | Conditioning | Survival | What the split achieves | Main sacrifice |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aggressive movement | 40 | 30 | 6 | Reaches both reported Mobility end gates and the first Conditioning gate. | Survival does not reach its reported 10-point middle-choice threshold. |
| Carry and resilience | 26 | 40 | 10 | Reaches both Conditioning end gates, with Mobility and Survival each receiving a useful foundation. | Mobility stops short of its first reported end gate. |
| Loot and field utility | 26 | 10 | 40 | Reaches both Survival end gates while unlocking the reported middle-choice threshold in Conditioning. | Mobility remains below its first reported end gate. |
These splits deliberately concentrate points. If you prefer flexibility, a 30-point primary branch can leave more room for two secondary branches at or above 10, but it will not provide the second end choice that the guide reports at 40. Conversely, a 40-point commitment should be made only when both end-node choices continue to support your objective.
How to allocate points without wasting a reset
- Open the current Raider Skill Tree and check your available total. The guide reports 76 base points at level 75, but your character’s level, prior spending and any later patch can produce a different number.
- Write down your objective. Use one sentence such as “I need faster rotations between fights,” “I routinely run out of carrying capacity,” or “I want to search and repair efficiently.” This prevents attractive but unrelated nodes from consuming your budget.
- Choose a primary branch. Mobility covers stamina and traversal, Conditioning covers carrying and resilience, and Survival covers looting and field crafting according to the current guide.
- Decide whether the primary branch should stop at 10, 30 or 40. Ten points reaches the reported middle choice; 30 reaches the first reported end choice; 40 reaches the second. Do not aim for 40 merely because it is the largest number.
- Read both middle-node descriptions before selecting one. The official redesign makes this a binary choice. Select only the effect that solves your stated problem; the other option is unavailable unless you reset.
- Assign secondary points deliberately. Use the second branch to cover your largest weakness—usually movement for a Survival build or capacity/resilience for a Mobility build. Put leftover points into a third branch only when they reach a meaningful threshold.
- At each end gate, compare all three offered skills. The ending presents three options, with up to two becoming available at the reported 30- and 40-point investments. Choose the options that match your route, squad role and extraction plan.
- Review the confirmation cost before committing. The current guide reports a full reset price of 2,000 Coins per point. A reset is not a free way to test every combination, so use the descriptions and your own recurring problems to make the first allocation.
- Record the final choices. A short note containing your branch totals and selected middle/end skills makes it easier to restore the build after a reset or compare it after a patch.
How to decide between similar choices
Traversal versus stamina
Ask whether your failures happen while crossing the map or during a specific movement action. Sprinting support helps with sustained travel; climbing, rolling, vaulting and movement-chain effects matter when terrain and combat transitions are the problem. Select the description that matches the action you perform repeatedly, not the one that sounds strongest in isolation.
Capacity versus resilience
Capacity is valuable when you regularly leave items behind or become encumbered before extraction. Resilience is more valuable when you reach extraction with a full load but lose the run after taking damage or being downed. Conditioning’s role covers both categories, so your middle and end choices should reflect which failure occurs more often.
Search speed versus stealth while looting
Search-focused effects improve the time spent interacting with containers. Stealth-oriented effects matter when nearby players or enemies punish exposed looting. A quiet route with fewer interruptions can outperform a faster search animation, while a low-risk area may reward raw search efficiency. Use the skill text and your map route to make that call.

Crafting, recycling and repairs
Field utility pays off over long raids and resource-focused routes. Crafting and recycling are most useful when you routinely collect materials; in-raid repairs matter when damaged equipment is the reason you extract early. Do not spend toward an end choice whose utility you cannot activate during your normal runs.

Embark’s official update confirms the redesign but also cautions that it is still being observed. The ARC Raiders Team wrote on October 8, 2026: “As this is a fairly big reimagining of the Skill Tree, there will likely be more tweaks and updates in the near future, to existing and new skills, as we see how you are engaging with it.” Read the complete statement in the official update notes.
The 76-point total, 10-point middle gate, 30- and 40-point end gates, and 2,000-Coins-per-point reset price are current guide-reported values, not named statistics published by Embark. No reliable source establishes a win-rate advantage, damage percentage, extraction rate or universally best allocation for any branch.
One dated preview also illustrates why personal testing matters. PC Gamer’s Morgan Park wrote after an October 7, 2026 preview, “I focused on Mobility and Conditioning, and while it was nice to sprint for a long time without stopping, I can’t say the new abilities led to me playing Arc Raiders any differently than before.” That is one writer’s preview impression, not a controlled test or a claim that Mobility and Conditioning are ineffective. You can read the preview at PC Gamer.

Keeping the build current after patches
- Check the patch date whenever Embark announces skill changes. Frozen Trail 2.0 launched October 8, 2026, and the official notes explicitly leave room for more tuning.
- Re-read every selected skill after an update instead of assuming its old effect remains unchanged.
- Compare your branch totals with the live gates. A changed threshold can make a previously efficient split stop just short of an end choice.
- Keep a screenshot or written record before resetting so you can restore the previous setup if the new version does not suit your route.
- Judge a change by repeated raids—movement routes, encumbrance problems, failed extractions and crafting needs—not by a single unusually good or bad run.
Frozen Trail is available on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and GeForce NOW according to the official launch information at ARC Raiders. Platform availability does not alter the tree rules; your client’s current descriptions and costs are the authority when they differ from an October 2026 guide.

A simple decision rule
Spend 10 points in the branch that solves your most frequent problem, take its middle choice only after reading both options, and go to 30 or 40 only when the corresponding end choices are worth giving up flexibility elsewhere. Mobility is the guide’s broadly useful foundation for stamina and traversal; Conditioning is the focused answer to carrying and resilience; Survival is the focused answer to looting and field utility. Start with one of the three templates, then change it only when your actual raids show a persistent weakness.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these official meta builds?
No. Embark has not published effectiveness or win-rate statistics for the skills. The splits here are practical starting templates built around the current guide-reported gates, not proven optimal allocations.
Can I change a middle-node choice later?
Yes, but the current tree requires a reset to change a choice. The October 2026 guide reports the reset price as 2,000 Coins per point; confirm the live cost in your client before proceeding.
