What each camera key does

Make sure the Assetto Corsa game window is active, then press the function key for the view you want: F1, F2, F3, F5, or F6.

Press another listed key whenever you want to change perspective again. The selected view follows the active camera binding.

How to move the exterior free camera
Select the exterior free camera with F5. DMM GAMES’ keyboard reference says the mouse, mouse buttons, and mouse wheel control camera movement. It does not specify individual mouse gestures, so the precise direction or speed controls may depend on the game setup.
How to adjust field of view
For the driver view, the same keyboard reference lists Ctrl + keypad plus and Ctrl + keypad minus to adjust field of view. This shortcut is documented specifically for driver view; do not assume it adjusts every camera.

If a camera key does nothing

Check that the game window has focus. Function keys may be handled elsewhere if another window is active.

Inspect the active keyboard or control bindings. Defaults can be changed, so a key may have been reassigned or cleared.

If you are using a compact keyboard or laptop, check whether its function keys require an Fn modifier. The cited reference lists F-keys directly, but keyboard hardware can change how those keys are sent.
Bind camera switching to a steering-wheel button
A June 2024 Steam Community discussion describes assigning the “change camera” command to a steering-wheel button through Assetto Corsa’s controls in Content Manager. Treat this as a community-reported route, not a guaranteed menu path: Content Manager versions and layouts may differ. Look for the camera-switch command in the active controls and assign it to an unused wheel button. You do not need a special camera accessory; this uses an existing input if it is supported and configured.

Changing the camera position is a different task
Switching views selects among cameras; it does not necessarily move or redesign a car’s camera. For custom placement, Assetto Corsa Japan LABS documents car graphics parameters including chase-camera pitch and bonnet or bumper camera positions and pitches. Its dash-camera documentation describes dash_cam.ini as containing dash-camera position and exposure, stored in the car’s data folder or data archive. Editing these files is a separate, more technical configuration task and may depend on being able to access the car data; it is not required for ordinary camera switching.
