Losing access to the email inbox registered to your Activision account does not necessarily mean you have lost access to the account. If a platform account is already linked, try signing in with it first. If you cannot get into the old inbox, ask its provider to restore access; if that fails or you remain blocked, contact Activision Support. Use hacked-account recovery only if you believe someone took over your account.
Choose the route that matches your situation

Try a linked platform sign-in
If your PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Battle.net, or other platform account is already linked to the Activision account you need, select that platform on the Activision login page and authenticate with the platform provider. This can let you into Activision without first signing into the old email inbox. It only works with an account that is already linked to the intended Activision account; a different platform account will not recover it.

Once signed in, you can check account management for an email-edit option. The ordinary change flow still requires access to the current email: Activision sends a one-time code there, then asks you to verify the new email address. If the old inbox is inaccessible, you cannot complete that self-service flow. See Managing Your Activision Account for the current steps.
Recover the old mailbox if possible
If the email address is the main obstacle, start with its provider’s recovery process. Activision recommends asking the provider to restore access. If you regain the inbox, use Activision’s normal email-change procedure and complete both verification steps: the code sent to the current address and confirmation at the new one. Activision’s email verification guidance covers what to do when the provider cannot restore access.

Contact Activision Support if recovery fails
If the email provider cannot restore the mailbox, or a linked-platform sign-in does not resolve your access problem, contact Activision Support using its account issue options. Explain that you cannot access the email address on the account and follow the details or verification steps Support requests.
Do not assume Support can replace the email. Activision warns: “Due to privacy and security concerns, Activision Support may be unable to change account details.” Whether it can help depends on the account and its verification circumstances.

Use hacked-account recovery only for suspected takeover
A lost inbox by itself is not evidence that the Activision account was hacked. Activision says non-hacked requests submitted through its hacked-account route may be closed or redirected. Use the Hacked Account Recovery form if you have reason to believe the account was compromised, such as unauthorized changes or access.

Use the correct previously linked platform account and follow the form’s instructions carefully; using a different account or an unverifiable or disposable email can result in denial. The temporary account is for recovery, not continued play: progress and purchases on it cannot be transferred to the affected account.

Know the email-change limits and account risks
- Activision’s current account-management guidance says an email address can be changed only once every 12 months.
- Before attempting the change, the account must have two-factor authentication enabled through an authenticator app or SMS.
- Suspicious login activity or other abnormal account behavior may delay, restrict, or prevent a request. Check the live instructions because eligibility and support steps can vary by account and change over time.
- Losing the registered inbox can prevent account changes and, in some cases, block login or access to games that require an Activision account. Not every player will be locked out, but it is worth addressing the issue promptly.

Unlinking a platform account is not a workaround for email verification. Activision says unlinking can affect cross-progression relationships, and the hacked-account form may depend on the platform account originally linked to the compromised account. Cross-progression-enabled game progress is stored on the Activision account, not simply on the platform login. A second account will not recover that progress, and purchases or progress made on a temporary recovery account cannot be transferred. Keep the existing links in place while you follow the appropriate recovery route.
