In Create-a-Sim (CAS), select the child, make the available appearance edits, and confirm. If the controls you need—such as some facial-feature options—aren’t available, EA-hosted community guidance describes using cas.fulleditmode to open a fuller editing route.
Change a child Sim through a mirror or dresser
- In Live Mode, click a mirror or dresser in the household.
- Choose Change Sim to open Create-a-Sim.
- Select the child Sim, adjust the appearance options available to you, then confirm the changes to return to the household.
CAS is The Sims 4’s tool for creating and designing Sims; the official The Sims 4 Players Guide describes its role in Sim creation. The guide is an older general reference, not current menu documentation.

When you need broader appearance controls
Ordinary Change Sim access may not expose every editing control. An EA Forums community answer reports that facial features can be unavailable through that route, so this limitation should not be treated as a universal rule for every version or platform.
- On PC or Mac, open the cheat console using the platform’s current keyboard controls.
- Enter
testingcheats true, then entercas.fulleditmode. - Use the game’s Sim-selection context menu to choose the CAS-edit option for the child.
These cheat steps are described in EA-hosted community guidance, rather than a current official step-by-step help article. The instructions are PC/Mac-oriented; console controls and menu details can differ, so check the controls shown by your game. Treat the route as an alternative when ordinary editing does not provide the options you want, not as a required first step.

Creating a child Sim is a separate task
If you want to add a new child or sibling rather than change an existing child’s appearance, use household creation in CAS. EA’s Players Guide covers creating Sims and households; that process is distinct from opening an existing played household with Change Sim.
