You can adjust its available appearance and behavior controls, or import a shared profile code using the import icon beside Crosshair Profile. Riot documented these controls in its Patch 4.05 notes and Patch 5.04 notes; the live client is the authority for labels and options currently available.
Change your crosshair in the Settings menu
- Launch VALORANT and open Settings.
- Select Crosshair.
- Use the available controls to change the reticle. Riot’s Patch 5.04 notes document custom colors and separate horizontal and vertical line sizing for Primary and Aim Down Sights settings. The notes also identify Primary, Aim Down Sights, and Sniper Scope settings contexts; the exact options shown can depend on the live client.
Appearance controls let you tune practical traits such as color, line length and gap, outline, and center dot. Other controls can show movement or firing error indicators. There is no universally best configuration established by Riot’s notes: choose a design that remains visible against the backgrounds you play on and that you can read without obscuring targets.

Import a crosshair code
- In Settings → Crosshair, find Crosshair Profile and select the downward-arrow import icon beside it.
- Paste or enter the code in the field provided, then select Import.
- Check the preview to confirm the imported settings, and give the profile a distinct name if you want to keep it organized.
Riot’s Patch 4.05 notes, published March 22, 2022, document the built-in profile import and export workflow. Since the source is a historical patch note, use the labels and controls shown in your current client if they differ.
Export and share your own crosshair
Select the upward-arrow export icon beside Crosshair Profile. Riot’s Patch 4.05 notes say this generates a code and copies it to the clipboard, which you can then share with another player. The same notes describe importing a code through the adjacent import control.

Copy a spectated player’s crosshair
Riot’s Patch 5.04 notes, published August 23, 2022, documented copying the crosshair of a player you are spectating with /crosshair copy or /cc, then saving it as a new profile. That is patch-era documentation, not confirmation that the command still works in every current client. If it is unavailable, use a profile code or adjust your own settings in the Crosshair menu.
Choosing settings that work for you
- Color: Pick a color that stands out on the maps and surfaces where you lose sight of your reticle.
- Line length and gap: Smaller elements can leave more of the target unobstructed; larger ones may be easier to locate quickly. Tune both rather than assuming one size fits every player.
- Outline and center dot: Use these only if they improve visibility and precision for you; extra detail can also make the reticle visually busy.
- Movement and firing error indicators: Enable or disable them according to whether you want visual feedback about accuracy changes during movement or firing.
These are practical selection criteria, not a claim that any one setup is optimal. Riot’s cited notes establish that related controls exist, but do not prescribe a best crosshair.
