To check your Steam purchase history, sign in, open your account menu, choose Account Details, and select View purchase history. You can do this in the Steam Client or on the Steam Store website. Your purchase history records Store transactions; it is not the same as your Steam Library.
Check your Steam purchase history on desktop
- Open the Steam Client or visit the Steam Store.
- Sign in to the Steam account that made the purchase.
- Select your account or profile name in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Account Details.
- Select View purchase history.
- Choose a transaction to view its available details and support options.
Valve documents this route for both the Steam website and Steam Client. The wording or placement can vary slightly between client layouts and website versions. See Valve’s official purchase and refund guidance if the menu is difficult to locate.

Open Steam purchase history in a web browser
The quickest browser route is https://store.steampowered.com/account/history/. If you are not signed in, Steam will send you to a login page. Make sure you sign in to the account that made the purchase; being logged into a different account is one of the most common reasons a transaction appears to be missing.

You can also reach the page manually by opening Steam’s Store website, selecting your account name, choosing Account Details, and then selecting View purchase history.

Check purchase history on a phone
Use Safari, Chrome, or another mobile browser:
- Open the Steam Store website.
- Sign in to the correct Steam account.
- Open the account or profile menu.
- Choose Account Details, then View purchase history.
The Steam Mobile app may not expose the same menu as desktop Steam, and its interface can change. If you cannot find the option in the app, use the mobile website or open the direct history link above. Valve’s mobile support material is available here.
What appears in Steam purchase history?
This page is a record of Steam Store transactions. Depending on the transaction and its status, it can include:
- Full games.
- Downloadable content.
- In-game items, currency, or other in-game purchases.
- Steam Wallet additions.
- Gifts and other Store transactions.
- Refunds, cancellations, or related transaction entries.
Valve describes Steam charges as covering games, DLC, and in-game items or currency. The exact information and layout shown for a transaction can vary, so do not assume that every entry displays the complete payment method, billing details, or an export option.

Purchase history is not your Library
Your purchase history answers “what transactions occurred?” Your Library answers “what products are currently associated with this account?” They are different records.
A refunded game may no longer be available in your Library while its purchase remains relevant to your transaction record. Conversely, a game may be in your Library without appearing as a normal Store purchase—for example, if it was activated with a product key, received as a gift, or added through another mechanism.
Other records Steam keeps separately
Do not confuse Store purchase history with:
- Steam Wallet balance or every Wallet-related activity.
- Community Market transactions.
- Trade history.
- Gift history.
- Steam Points history.
- Your bank, card, or PayPal statement.
These activities may use different pages or Steam Support sections.

What to do if a purchase is missing
Work through these checks in order:
- Verify the account. Sign out and back in if necessary, then confirm that you are using the account that made the purchase.
- Search your email. Look for the Steam receipt or confirmation message and note the date, amount, and product.
- Compare payment records. Check the bank, card, or PayPal entry against the Steam receipt. Taxes, currency conversion, and payment-provider fees can make the amounts differ.
- Check whether it was a guest purchase. A guest checkout may not appear in the history of a normal Steam account.
- Identify the seller. Purchases from a third-party store, retail key seller, console, or separate publisher service may not be Steam Store transactions.
- Consider pending or canceled payments. A bank authorization does not always mean that Steam completed the purchase.
- Check split payments. If Steam Wallet funds covered part of the order, the bank may show only the remaining amount.
For a missing Wallet addition, Valve recommends checking the receipt and confirming the correct account. Restart the Steam Client; if the balance is still incorrect after more than two hours, contact Steam Support.

If you checked out as a guest, use the email address entered during checkout and find the original receipt. Steam’s guest-purchase support flow uses email verification. Do not assume that a guest purchase will appear in the history of a Steam account created or used later.

- Select Purchases.
- Choose the relevant purchase.
- Select the problem that best describes the issue.
- Choose I’d like to request a refund.
Valve’s standard guideline is that a request is generally made within 14 days of purchase and the game has less than two hours of playtime. Valve says requests outside those conditions may still be submitted for review, and some purchase types can have different rules. Read the official refund policy for the current conditions.
Approved refunds can take up to seven days to appear. Refunds credited to the Steam Wallet may take 24–48 hours, while international payment methods can take longer. If a transaction was canceled within 24 hours, you may not see a separate refund credit because the original authorization was canceled rather than settled and refunded.

- Open your Steam purchase history and compare the transaction date and total with your statement.
- Ask household members or anyone with access to the payment method whether they made the purchase.
- Account for taxes, currency conversion, and payment-provider fees when comparing totals.
- Use Valve’s unrecognized-charge guidance or the purchase-support wizard.
- If unauthorized access is possible, secure your Steam account and contact your payment provider as appropriate.
Valve says Steam does not impose recurring or monthly charges unless an online-game subscription explicitly applies. When contacting Steam Support, provide payment information only through the official support site. Valve advises users not to send a full card number, expiration date, or CVV. Support may request limited details such as the charge, date, payment type, last four card digits, email address, or a PayPal invoice ID.

Steam Wallet purchases and split payments
Wallet activity matters when you added funds, paid for an order partly with Wallet credit, or believe your balance is incorrect. Steam Wallet funds can be used toward Store purchases, with another payment method covering any remaining amount. Valve also says unused Wallet funds purchased on Steam may be eligible for a refund within 14 days, subject to its policy and conditions. Read the Steam Wallet FAQ for details.
If the history page fails, keep the receipt, payment date, amount, account email, and relevant last-four payment digits ready for the official support form. Never post complete payment credentials in a forum or support ticket.
