To check a Steam hardware order, sign in to Steam Support with the account used to place it and review your purchases. If the order has shipped, find Valve’s shipment confirmation email: it contains the carrier and tracking information. Use that carrier’s tracking page for the current delivery estimate. Valve’s shipping FAQ does not give one delivery window that applies to every order, so an arrival date cannot be estimated from the purchase alone.
This guide covers the two checks that matter most: finding the purchase in Steam Support and, once Valve has sent it, tracking the parcel with the carrier named in the confirmation email. It also explains what the regional carrier examples mean, what Valve says about changes and cancellations, and where to turn if payment or delivery is a problem.

Find the order in Steam Support
- Open Steam Support and sign in to the Steam account that placed the order. Valve says signed-in customers can review purchases and receive personalized help.
- Locate the hardware purchase in your purchases and open its help or support options if you need assistance. For Steam Deck hardware, Valve also provides a Steam Deck Support path that includes payment or shipping assistance.
Seeing a purchase in Steam does not by itself mean the order has shipped. The purchase lets you review the order and reach its support options; shipment and transit details come from the later shipment confirmation and the carrier’s tracking page. Do not infer dispatch, a carrier assignment, or an arrival date solely from the fact that the purchase appears in your account.
Make sure you are signed in to the account used to make the purchase. Steam Support’s signed-in view is the route Valve identifies for reviewing purchases and receiving personalized help. A public support page is not a substitute for that account-specific purchase view. If you need help with a Steam Deck payment or shipping issue, start from the Steam Deck hardware support path or open the purchase’s help options.

Track a shipped Steam hardware order
- Search the email account associated with the order for Valve’s shipment confirmation.
- Find the carrier name and tracking information in that message. Valve says these details are included in the shipment confirmation email.
- Open the named carrier’s tracking page and enter the tracking number. Check the latest scan and the delivery estimate shown for that shipment.
Valve describes the key handoff this way: “Your order’s carrier and tracking information will be included in your shipment confirmation email.” The confirmation is therefore the order-specific starting point for tracking once the parcel has been sent. Use the carrier and tracking number in that message rather than choosing a carrier based only on your country or relying on a general list of carrier names.
If you can see the purchase in Steam but do not have the shipment confirmation, that alone does not show that the order has shipped. Without the shipment’s tracking information, there is no carrier tracking estimate to use yet. Review the order in Steam Support and contact support if you have a payment or delivery issue; do not guess at transit time from the purchase date.
Carrier arrangements vary by destination, and the regional names below are examples from Valve—not a guarantee of which carrier will handle a particular parcel. The confirmation email identifies the carrier for your order.

|---|---|---|
| United States and Canada | FedEx or UPS | Use the carrier named in your email. |
| European Union and United Kingdom | DHL or GLS | Some deliveries may use a different courier for the final leg. |
| Australia | StarTrack | Use the carrier named in your email. |
These examples reflect Valve’s English-language Hardware Shipping FAQ as available on October 11, 2026. Carrier arrangements and supported destinations can change, and the FAQ does not specify one carrier for every address. In the EU and UK, a last-leg courier may be used, so the carrier examples are not a promise that one named company will perform every part of every delivery. For your parcel, the shipment confirmation and its tracking information take precedence over the regional examples.
When should your order arrive?
There is no universal number of days to apply to all Steam hardware orders in Valve’s published FAQ. Delivery timing depends on the individual shipment; the carrier’s tracking page is the place to check its current estimate. If you do not yet have a shipment confirmation, you do not yet have tracking information with which to estimate transit. Contact Steam Support for a payment or delivery issue rather than assuming that the order has shipped or assigning it an arrival date.
Rank #2
When asking “When will my Steam Deck arrive?”, distinguish the order stage before looking for an answer:
- Purchase visible in Steam, but no shipment confirmation: you can review the purchase and its support options, but the purchase view alone does not establish that the order has shipped. Valve’s public FAQ supplies no general number of days to add to the purchase date.
- Shipment confirmation received: use its carrier and tracking details to open the parcel’s tracking page. The estimate shown there is specific to that shipment.
- Payment or delivery concern: contact Steam Support rather than treating a missing estimate or a purchase listing as proof of a particular problem.
The carrier’s page is the useful source for the current shipment-specific estimate, but it is not a universal promise for other orders. Routes, destination, the actual carrier, and any last-leg courier arrangements can differ. Valve’s FAQ does not state a common transit duration or guarantee a delivery date for every customer. For that reason, an estimate from another buyer, a regional carrier example, or the order’s mere appearance in Steam should not replace the estimate attached to your tracking number.
If an estimate is not available to you yet, the next step depends on what information you have: check Steam Support for the purchase and its support options, then look for Valve’s shipment confirmation for tracking details. If there is a payment or delivery issue, Steam directs customers to Support. Valve does not state a response time or promise a specific resolution, so avoid treating a particular arrival day as assured unless it is shown for your shipment by the carrier.
Change, cancel, or get help with an order
Change or cancel within 24 hours
Valve says you can modify or cancel a hardware shipment within 24 hours of placing the order. Locate the purchase on the Help Site and follow the on-screen instructions. The available options are presented there for that purchase.
The 24-hour period is counted from when the order was placed, not from when you receive a tracking number. If you want to change or cancel, act within that window and use the purchase’s Help Site options. Valve does not describe a separate process in the public FAQ that bypasses those on-screen instructions.

After the 24-hour window
After 24 hours, Valve says the order is allocated for shipment and cannot be changed, cancelled, or recalled. If it has shipped and you want a refund, Valve directs you to submit a request through the Help Site after delivery.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →This distinction matters if your plan changes after placing the order: modifying or cancelling is available only within the stated 24-hour window. Once that time has passed, the FAQ says the order cannot be recalled, even if you would prefer to stop the shipment. For a refund after shipment, follow Valve’s stated route and submit the request through the Help Site after delivery rather than assuming that tracking support can cancel the parcel.
Payment, delivery, or missing-shipment problems
For a payment or delivery problem—or if an order in transit appears lost or stolen—contact Steam Support. Valve’s public FAQ does not promise a response time or a particular delivery resolution.
Use the support path that fits the issue: review the purchase in Steam Support, open its help options, and for Steam Deck hardware use the dedicated Steam Deck Support path if it applies. Tracking questions are answered by the carrier’s order-specific tracking page when tracking information is available; payment, delivery, lost, or stolen shipment problems are reasons to contact Steam Support. Valve does not publish a guaranteed support turnaround or a specific outcome, so do not rely on an assumed response deadline.
Shipping charges and import costs
Valve says shipping is free for its hardware products. Local taxes and customs or import fees may still apply depending on your location.

Free shipping does not mean that every possible charge is waived: Valve specifically notes that local taxes and customs or import fees may apply based on location. These potential charges are separate from the delivery estimate. For the actual carrier, parcel progress, and current estimate, use the shipment confirmation and carrier tracking rather than treating the shipping-charge policy as a timetable.
