What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Start with the system you play on most, then verify the exact controller model, mode, and game support. The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is documented for Xbox and Windows PC; DualSense Edge is Sony’s PS5-focused pro controller with Windows profile tools; and the Victrix Pro BFG guide documents PS5, PS4, and PC modes. None of those claims establishes one controller’s native compatibility with all three platforms.
Start with platform compatibility
A controller can connect to a device without every game or controller feature working as expected. Before comparing paddles or stick options, check three things: the console or PC operating system, the connection method, and whether the games you play support the controller’s inputs.

- PC: Microsoft describes Xbox controllers as the most seamless option for Windows 11. Its guide also lists DualShock 4 and DualSense, noting that PlayStation controllers may require Steam Input or DS4Windows for full compatibility in some games. Check the current Windows and game support for the exact controller you plan to buy. Microsoft’s Windows 11 controller guide
- PS5: Sony presents DualSense Edge as a PS5 pro controller. Its product page also describes use in a range of PC games, but that does not mean every PC game supports every DualSense feature. Sony’s DualSense Edge page
- Xbox: Xbox documents the Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, and mobile devices over Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth. Xbox’s Elite Series 2 page
For PC, distinguish connection from game support: a wired or Bluetooth connection may establish basic input, while a game’s support and any mapping software determine whether the controls work as you expect. Also check which features remain available in the selected connection or platform mode.
What makes a controller “pro” for your games?
Pro controllers differ in which controls can be remapped, whether assignments can be saved as profiles, and how much you can change the sticks, triggers, or layout. Choose features that solve a real problem in the games you play rather than treating a longer feature list as proof of better performance.
#1 Best Overall

- TMR Sticks: The G7 Pro features GameSir's Mag-Res TMR sticks, combining Hall Effect durability with traditional potentiometer performance. This advanced technology delivers stable polling rates for smooth, drift-free gaming with low power consumption.
- Hall Effect Analog Triggers: The GameSir precision-tuned Hall Effect analog triggers provide unmatched smoothness and linear input for precise control. Featuring clicky Micro Switch trigger stops, gamers can easily switch based on their preferences.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate on PC: Experience ultra-responsive gaming with a 1000Hz polling rate on PC, available through both wired and 2.4G wireless connections. This ensures instantaneous input registration, reducing lag and optimizing your performance for the most competitive gameplay.
- GameSir Nexus App: The G7 Pro is compatible with the upgraded GameSir Nexus app, which brings a significant upgrade over the original. It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
Back buttons and profiles
Rear buttons can let you keep your thumbs on the sticks while assigning actions such as jumping or reloading. Check their number and placement, whether you can assign them, and whether the controller can save and switch between profiles. Sony documents two Half Dome back buttons and swappable profiles on DualSense Edge. Xbox documents button mapping through the Xbox Accessories app for Elite Series 2. Sony · Xbox
Sticks, triggers, and modular layouts
Look for the particular adjustment you need: stick tension, replaceable stick modules, trigger stops, or a different stick layout. Xbox lists three thumbstick tension settings for Elite Series 2. Victrix’s Pro BFG guide describes a reversible left module for standard or offset stick placement. These are different approaches; neither establishes a comfort advantage for every player.

- No Stick Drift TMR Joysticks: Enjoy ultra-smooth, precise control with virtually zero stick drift. Powered by advanced Mag-Res TMR technology, it combines the accuracy of traditional sticks with the durability of Hall Effect sensors for long-lasting performance.
- Official XBOX Wireless Controller: Officially licensed for XBOX Series X|S and XBOX One, featuring a stable 2.4G wireless connection with fast response and reliable performance. Supports one-press wake-up for seamless console gameplay.
- 1000Hz Ultra-Low Latency on PC: Achieve up to 1000Hz polling rate on PC via wired or 2.4G wireless for faster, more responsive gameplay. Note: 1000Hz polling rate is supported on PC only. XBOX consoles are optimized for stable and smooth performance.
- Official Zenless Zone Zero Edition: Designed in collaboration with HoYoverse, featuring exclusive artwork and a bold, game-inspired design. Perfect for fans and collectors looking to elevate their gaming setup with a unique style.
- Hall Effect Analog Triggers: One Controller With two Kinds Triggers, Seamless Switch Between Hall Effect Triggers and Micro triggers! Enjoy precise control with quick toggling for enhanced responsiveness in any game
If a listing advertises Hall-effect or TMR sticks, verify that the claim applies to the exact model revision. A sensor type alone does not justify calling a controller drift-proof, and the cited manufacturer information does not provide a comparative drift or durability test.
Connection and retained features
Confirm whether you will use USB, Bluetooth, or a wireless adapter, and check the feature list for that mode. The Pro BFG guide says that headset audio through the controller jack and the touchpad are unsupported in PC XInput mode. A controller may therefore be usable on a platform while offering a different set of features there.

Compare the documented options by platform
| Controller | Documented platform support | Notable documented features | Qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 | Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, and mobile devices | Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth; mapping through the Xbox Accessories app; three thumbstick tension settings | Xbox’s page says it has “over 30 new ways to play like a pro”; this is manufacturer promotional wording, not independent performance evidence. Source |
| DualSense Edge | PS5; Sony also describes use in a range of PC games | Configurable controls, swappable profiles, two Half Dome back buttons, and Windows profile editing through PlayStation Accessories | Windows profile tools do not establish that every PC game supports every controller feature. Source |
| Victrix Pro BFG | PS5, PS4, and PC modes | Three-position mode switch; wired and wireless setup; reversible left module for standard or offset stick layout | The cited guide says headset audio through the controller jack and touchpad are unsupported in PC XInput mode. Verify the current product revision; the guide does not establish that later editions have identical features. Source |
These are platform-specific choices, not evidence that any one model works natively across PS5, Xbox, and PC. In particular, the Pro BFG’s documented PS5/PS4/PC modes are not an Xbox-console compatibility claim.

You are choosing a PC controller and do not need console-specific features
Use Microsoft’s Windows guidance as a starting point: Xbox controllers are described as the most seamless Windows 11 option. PlayStation controllers are also listed, but some games may need Steam Input or DS4Windows for full compatibility. The right choice depends on your games, connection preference, and whether you need companion software.
Quick Recap
Check these details before buying
- Read the exact model and edition name; do not infer platform support from the brand or controller shape.
- Confirm the supported console or PC mode, connection method, and game-level input support.
- Check whether profile editing or button mapping requires a Windows app, and whether the controller stores profiles for use elsewhere.
- Verify which features work in each mode, especially the headset jack, touchpad, haptics, and any platform-specific controls.
- If replaceable sticks, modules, or a particular sensor type matter to you, verify them against the exact revision and its manufacturer documentation.
- Check current regional listings for included accessories, warranty terms, replacement parts, and price; these can vary by edition and region.
