Keep an item only when its next use has a measurable payoff—hero power, a planned blueprint, Collection Book progress, an event request, or a better sale than the alternatives. Everything else is surplus that should become gold, Merchant XP, or Market value.
The four-way decision that prevents inventory bloat
An item is not valuable in isolation. Its best destination depends on what you can do with it now, how long it occupies a slot, and what you would give up by choosing another action. Before tapping a button, identify the item’s strongest current payoff.

| Action | Choose it when | Do not choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Keep | A current hero, blueprint, Collection Book milestone, event, visitor request, or rack plan needs that exact item. | You cannot name a likely use or a milestone it advances. |
| Sell in the shop | You want immediate gold and Merchant XP from unlocked, low-opportunity-cost surplus. | The item is reserved, unusually valuable on the Market, or needed as a crafting input. |
| List or buy on the Market | A live listing beats your crafting or shop-selling alternative, or you need a precise tier, quality, element, or spirit affinity quickly. | The listing price is no better than shop value after considering time, fees if applicable, and inventory space. |
| Use for crafting | The item is a required resource or advances a Craft Progress Chain with a payoff you actually plan to reach. | Crafting it would delay a more important blueprint or consume a scarce resource without a target. |
This rule is more reliable than memorizing a “best item to farm.” Shop Titans changes with player level, tier, quality, blueprint progress, live Market demand, and event state, so there is no permanent, universal most-profitable item.

Keep equipment that solves a hero problem
Check the equipped hero, not just the item’s base type
Keep gear when it materially improves a hero you are actively using. Compare the item’s stats with the hero’s current equipment and the role that hero fills in your party. A slightly higher base value is not automatically better if the item’s element or spirit affinity does not fit the hero.

Shop Titans’ 2024 Market filters include element and spirit affinities. Use those filters to verify a candidate instead of assuming every item in a familiar weapon or armor category is interchangeable. A piece that completes an affinity requirement can be worth more to your roster than its shop price suggests.
Keep a spare only for a defined reason
- A replacement is justified when a hero is waiting for that exact tier, quality, or affinity.
- A second copy can make sense when two active heroes use the same slot and you would otherwise remove equipment between quests.
- Do not stockpile duplicates merely because they are uncommon. If no hero, affinity target, or collection milestone needs them, compare their immediate sale or Market value.
Reserve resources for planned crafting
Start with the blueprint, then work backward
Keep a material when you have a blueprint you intend to craft and the material is a required input. Write down—or mentally tag—the blueprint, the quantity needed, and when you expect to craft it. Without that target, a resource is tying up capacity for an undefined future.
Blueprint pages expose the comparison data you need: resources, item value, crafting time, Merchant XP, worker XP, item stats, Airship Power, Favor, Collection Score, energy costs, and milestone upgrades. Compare the complete opportunity cost rather than looking only at the finished item’s sale value.

Use Craft Progress Chains deliberately
Craft Progress Chains advance when you craft the same item repeatedly. The Shop Titans Help Center describes the benefit directly: “The more times you craft the same item, the better you get at it!” Progress can unlock blueprints, raise sale value, and improve quality chances. Consume materials for a chain when you have a planned milestone; do not continue a chain solely because its counter is moving.

Keep Collection Book copies and quality variants with a plan
Before a slot is unlocked
A May 2024 Collection Book guide recommends retaining at least one copy of each item quality until the relevant slot is unlocked. This is a deliberate holding rule, not a reason to keep unlimited duplicates: retain the minimum copy that protects the next collection milestone, then release extras.
After the slot is unlocked
Once the Collection Book requirement is satisfied, you can pursue additional quality through crafting or buy the needed item on the Market. Choose the cheaper route after comparing the live listing with your resource cost, crafting time, and the inventory slot consumed while you wait.
Antique and Starforged collection systems
A March 2025 update added antique-blueprint purchases in the Collection Book and a 15% discount for blueprints found in the Antique Store. Treat that discount as an update-specific benefit, not a permanent price rule; verify the current blueprint price before spending.

Use event, visitor, and rack utility as a reason to hold stock
Reserve known requests
Keep items set aside for a current event, a visitor request you expect to complete, or a rack strategy that depends on a particular product. Tag the reason mentally or in a note so “temporary reserve” does not become permanent clutter.
Offline selling with the Vending Machine
The Vending Machine can hold chosen items and sell them while you are offline. February 2025 release notes state that a shop is limited to one Vending Machine, with a purchase cost of 1,500 Gems. Use it for stock you have intentionally selected for unattended sales; do not fill the machine with materials reserved for a blueprint or collection milestone.

Unlock the item first
Shop Titans Help Center states: “Items have to be unlocked in order to sell them or use them for crafting!” A locked item is therefore not merely protected stock; it is unavailable for both actions until you unlock it. Lock reserved items immediately, and unlock only when you have decided to sell or craft.

Sell for predictable gold and Merchant XP
Shop selling is the clean choice for unlocked surplus with no stronger destination. Official help explains: “Each item you sell gives you a bit more experience. The more an item is worth, the more experience you get for…” The exact return depends on the item’s value, so low-opportunity-cost duplicates and unreserved materials are the usual candidates.
- Sell duplicate low-quality gear after checking that no hero or Collection Book slot needs it.
- Sell materials left over after you have met the quantity for your planned blueprint.
- Sell ordinary stock when you need immediate gold and a Market listing would occupy attention or space for little extra return.
Do not sell first and investigate later: once a reserved copy is gone, replacing it may require a higher Market price or another crafting cycle.
When to use the Market instead
Buy for precision or speed
The Market is appropriate when you need a specific tier, quality, element, or spirit affinity quickly and the live listing is cheaper than producing the item yourself. It is also useful when a listed item’s price is clearly above its shop value and the item is not needed for your own progression.
Compare the live listing with all four costs
Market prices and liquidity change continuously. For each candidate, compare:

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
- the current listing price and whether similar listings are actually moving;
- the item’s shop value and the Merchant XP you would receive by selling it;
- the resources, worker time, energy, and blueprint progress required to craft a replacement;
- the inventory or rack capacity occupied while you hold or wait for the sale.
A high sticker price is not automatically a good sale if listings are slow, while a modest discount can be worthwhile when it saves a long craft or completes a hero affinity set.
Use the current filters and read the corrected information
Affinity filters introduced by the 2024 Market update make it easier to find a hero-compatible item. Official 2025 notes also document fixes to Market quantity and sale-price information for items below their tier requirements. Check the displayed quantity and sale price on the current listing rather than relying on an old screenshot, spreadsheet, or remembered value.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A lock-and-triage workflow for every new item
- Lock reserved items immediately. Lock anything intended for a hero, blueprint, collection slot, event, visitor, or rack plan. Because unlocking is required before selling or crafting, this prevents accidental consumption.
- Assign one reason. Tag the item as hero, blueprint input, collection, event, or sale. If you cannot assign a reason, treat it as unreserved surplus.
- Check the next milestone. Look at the hero upgrade, blueprint quantity, Collection Book slot, or event request that would consume the item. Record the quantity and timing.
- Price the alternatives. For unreserved stock, compare shop value and XP with current Market prices, crafting time, resource cost, and the capacity cost of holding it.
- Take one action. Sell low-value surplus in the shop, list unusually valuable or demand-matched items on the Market, or consume a required input for the planned craft.
- Recheck after a change. Review reserves when your tier, item quality, affinity needs, event, or Collection Book milestone changes.
Quick decisions by item situation
| Situation | Default action | Reason to override |
|---|---|---|
| Current hero needs the exact affinity or a meaningful stat upgrade | Keep or buy on the Market | Override only if another item reaches the same target for less. |
| Material meets the quantity for a planned blueprint | Keep the required amount; sell the excess | Keep more only if a second blueprint or chain milestone is scheduled. |
| Quality variant is needed for an unopened Collection Book slot | Keep one copy | Extra copies can be crafted, bought, or sold after the slot is protected. |
| Unlocked duplicate, low quality, no hero or collection use | Sell in the shop | List it if the live Market price clearly exceeds its shop return and demand exists. |
| Specific tier or affinity needed immediately | Check the Market first | Craft instead when inputs and time are cheaper than the listing. |
| Event or visitor request is active | Reserve the requested quantity | Sell only the quantity above the confirmed requirement. |
| Vending Machine stock | Keep selected sale items in the machine | Do not use reserved crafting or collection copies as offline stock. |
Three examples of the rule in practice
A duplicate low-quality weapon
Your active heroes already have suitable weapons, the Collection Book slot is unlocked, and no event requests the item. Unlock it if necessary, compare the current Market listing with the shop value, and sell in the shop unless the listing offers a clear premium that justifies waiting and using capacity.
A rare material with no immediate blueprint
Do not keep it simply because it is rare. Check upcoming blueprints and Craft Progress Chains. If neither has a scheduled payoff, treat it as inventory with an opportunity cost: sell it for immediate gold and XP, or list it if current demand materially improves the return.
A quality variant needed for collection
Lock one copy until the relevant Collection Book slot is unlocked. Afterward, decide whether further quality attempts advance a milestone you want. If not, sell or list surplus and recover the capacity.
Common mistakes and how to correct them
- Keeping every quality forever: protect only the copies required for an unopened Collection Book slot; release extras afterward.
- Confusing rarity with usefulness: test the item against a hero, affinity, blueprint, event, or market price before reserving it.
- Crafting without a target: use Craft Progress Chains when a known unlock, sale-value increase, or quality chance justifies the inputs.
- Ignoring capacity: include rack and inventory space in every Market and keep decision. A theoretically profitable item can be a practical loss if it blocks higher-value stock.
- Using stale prices: Market values, quantities, and demand are live. Recheck listings at the moment you buy or sell.
- Forgetting future system changes: the 2026 roadmap signals Tier 16 content, new collection cards, and a future use for Titan and Champion Souls. Keep such materials only when you have a stated plan; a roadmap signal is not proof of a current payoff.
The practical rule to remember
Lock first, name the payoff, and then compare alternatives. Keep only the quantity tied to a hero, blueprint, collection milestone, event, or rack plan. Sell ordinary unlocked surplus for dependable gold and Merchant XP. Use the Market for a demonstrably better live price or a precise item you need quickly. Craft when the input advances a blueprint or Craft Progress Chain with a planned reward. Revisit the decision whenever tier, quality, affinity, event status, or collection progress changes.
