How to Claim Twitch Drops During League of Legends Streams (2026 Guide)

To claim a League of Legends Twitch Drop, link your Riot Account to Twitch, select a live channel listed in an active League campaign, watch for that campaign’s required time, then claim the reward in Twitch Drops Inventory. Open League of Legends afterward so Riot can deliver the item. Campaign rules—not a permanent League-wide schedule—decide which streams qualify, whether VODs count, how long you may claim, and where the reward is available.

What a League Twitch Drop is

A Twitch Drop is a digital reward attached to a particular Twitch campaign. Watching a qualifying live broadcast adds progress to that campaign; reaching 100 percent unlocks a claim button in Twitch. The reward is then sent to the linked game account, rather than being granted merely because you watched any League of Legends stream.

Riot Games’ January 8, 2026 Season Start: For Demacia! example offered the “Lightshield Stonks” emote after one hour of qualifying live viewing. Riot stated that the full hour had to be reached “in totality in a single channel.” That example was not a universal rule for every event: another campaign can require a different duration, reward, program, region, or claim period.

Before you watch: requirements that prevent most failures

A Twitch account

You need to be signed in to Twitch in the browser or app where you will watch. Progress is associated with that Twitch account, so switching accounts during a campaign can leave progress on the wrong profile.

A Riot Account with League access

The Riot Account receiving the item must be the one connected to Twitch. If you use multiple Riot Accounts, identify the intended account before authorizing the connection.

A campaign that is currently active

League Drops are campaign-specific. An ordinary League stream does not automatically qualify. Twitch’s Drops & Rewards area shows active campaigns, their requirements, and participating channels. Riot’s campaign guidance says eligible channels carry a Drops callout at the top of chat and appear in the campaign’s participating-channel list.

A supported location and service

The January 2026 Riot event was not region-locked, but it was available only in places where Twitch Drops were supported. Do not assume that a campaign listed for another country, platform, or service will deliver to your account; read the campaign’s own availability statement.

Link Riot Games to Twitch

1. Sign in to Twitch.
2. Open your profile menu and choose Settings.
3. Open Connections.
4. Scroll to Riot Games and select Connect.
5. Sign in to the Riot Account that should receive League rewards.
6. Review the authorization request and approve it.

Riot identifies this Settings → Connections route as the account-linking method. Afterward, return to Connections and confirm that the intended Riot account is shown as connected. A link made to a different Riot login can be valid technically while still sending the reward somewhere you did not intend.

Linking is required for reliable in-game delivery. It does not, by itself, create progress: you still have to join a qualifying campaign and satisfy its viewing rule.

Find a League stream with Drops enabled

1. Open Twitch’s Drops & Rewards page.
2. Select the active League of Legends campaign you want to complete.
3. Read the campaign panel for its watch-time, reward, availability, and deadline rules.
4. Choose a channel listed as participating. Confirm that the stream is live and that Twitch displays the campaign’s Drops indication.

Riot says the Drops callout appears at the top of eligible chat, while participating channels are listed within the campaign. These two checks are more reliable than searching for a League category and choosing a channel at random.

If no League campaign appears in Drops & Rewards, there may be no active event for your account or region at that moment. Watching a stream without an active campaign will not create retroactive progress.

Watch for the exact campaign requirement

Keep the qualifying broadcast open while Twitch records your viewing. Read the wording carefully: “one hour” may mean one continuous or cumulative hour, and a campaign can impose a single-channel condition. In Riot’s January 2026 example, the requirement was one hour of any eligible League Partner Program streamer’s livestream during the campaign window, with the complete hour accumulated in one channel.

Campaigns can differ on all of the following:

• Eligible channel or creator program.
• Total live watch time.
• Whether time is cumulative or must be completed in one channel.
• Whether subscriptions or gifted subscriptions affect anything (do not assume they do).
• Whether VODs or replays count.
• Reward type and quantity.
• Regions in which the reward is available.
• How long an earned reward remains claimable.

Subscriptions, gifts, chat activity, and other interactions are not substitutes for the stated watch requirement unless the campaign explicitly says so. A viewer should use the campaign panel as the controlling rule.

Can VODs count?

They may be excluded. Riot’s cited January 2026 event counted live viewing and did not count VOD viewing. Because this is event-specific, check the current campaign text before relying on a replay. If the requirement says livestream or live viewing, use a live broadcast.

Can you watch multiple channels?

Riot says only one participating channel can accrue progress at a time in that campaign. Twitch campaign rules can also restrict simultaneous progress. Opening several qualifying streams does not guarantee that their minutes will be combined; keep the channel that is actually recording progress in focus and verify the percentage in Drops Inventory.

Monitor progress in Drops Inventory

1. Open Twitch’s profile menu and select Drops & Rewards or the campaign’s Drops Inventory view.
2. Locate the League campaign.
3. Watch the percentage or time indicator while remaining on the participating live channel.
4. Refresh the inventory if the indicator does not update after a reasonable period, then confirm that the channel is still live and listed for the campaign.

The inventory is the authoritative place to see whether Twitch has credited your viewing. A streamer’s title, a chat message, or a third-party schedule cannot confirm that your account is progressing.

If the percentage stays at zero

• Confirm that the campaign is active and the channel is listed as participating.
• Check that the broadcast is live rather than a VOD or replay.
• Make sure you are signed in to the Twitch account that is linked to Riot.
• Disable ad-blocking extensions. Riot specifically warns that ad blockers can prevent watch-time progress from accruing.
• Keep only one participating channel active while testing progress.
• Reload Twitch after checking the above conditions.

Claim the reward at 100 percent

1. Wait until Drops Inventory shows 100 percent or the campaign’s equivalent completion state.
2. Use Twitch’s claim notification, if displayed, or open Drops Inventory and select Claim beside the completed reward.
3. Confirm that Twitch changes the item to a claimed or delivered state.
4. Record the campaign end date if you have not yet opened League of Legends.

Completion is not always the same as claiming. A full progress bar can leave the reward waiting in inventory until you press Claim, and the claim control can disappear after the campaign’s deadline.

How long do you have to claim?

Deadlines vary by campaign. Riot’s January 2026 example allowed claims for seven days—168 hours—after the campaign ended. Twitch’s general Drops guidance says rewards remain in Drops Inventory for up to six months, but that general retention statement does not override a shorter event-specific window. Claim immediately after reaching 100 percent.

Receive the item in League of Legends

After claiming on Twitch, open League of Legends while the correct Riot Account is signed in. Delivery can take some time. If the item is not visible immediately, do not claim it again from another Twitch account; first verify the account connection and then use the game publisher’s support route.

Reward missing after a successful claim

1. Return to Twitch Settings → Connections.
2. Verify that the connected Riot Account is the one you use for League.
3. Check Drops Inventory to make sure the reward is marked claimed rather than merely complete.
4. Restart League of Legends and allow time for account synchronization.
5. If the connection and claim status are correct but the item is still absent, contact Riot support and provide the campaign name, Twitch account, Riot Account, and claim timing.

Fix the most common problems

“I watched, but there is no progress.”

Use Drops Inventory to verify the campaign, then check that the stream is live, the channel is participating, and an ad blocker is not interfering. Riot specifically identifies ad-blocking extensions as a cause of missing watch-time credit. Also stop other participating streams so Twitch has one clear channel from which to accrue progress.

“I watched a replay and nothing happened.”

The cited Riot event excluded VOD viewing. Read the current campaign’s rule; if it specifies a livestream, only live viewing satisfies it.

“I watched two channels at once.”

Only one participating channel can accrue progress at a time under Riot’s cited campaign, and Twitch may impose an additional simultaneous-progress limit. Return to one listed channel and watch the inventory indicator rather than assuming both windows count.

“The reward says complete, but I cannot find Claim.”

Open Drops Inventory directly and look for the claim control beside the completed item. If the campaign has ended, check its post-campaign deadline. The January 2026 event’s seven-day window was finite; completion after that period does not guarantee a claim option.

“I claimed it, but League does not have it.”

Verify the connected Riot Account in Twitch Settings → Connections, confirm that Twitch marks the item claimed, restart League, and allow delivery time. If the account is correct and the reward remains missing, contact Riot support as Twitch’s help guidance recommends.

“I connected the wrong Riot Account.”

Stop watching until the account issue is resolved. Recheck which Riot login is connected in Twitch, then follow the available account-management and support instructions from Riot. Progress earned on one Twitch/Riot pairing should not be assumed to transfer to another pairing.

• Sign in to the intended Twitch account.
