How do I combine PDFs in Adobe Acrobat on Windows or macOS?

1. Open the Combine files tool

3. Drag pages between documents
Select one or more thumbnails in the source sidebar and drag them into the destination sidebar. Drop them at the end to append the pages, or place them between existing thumbnails to insert them at a specific point. You can select only the pages you need instead of importing an entire PDF.
4. Reorder and verify
Drag thumbnails within the destination sidebar until the sequence is correct. Open several pages to confirm that orientation, page breaks, and captions appear as expected.
5. Protect the original when necessary
Apple states that changes made to a Preview document are saved automatically. Before dragging pages, choose File > Duplicate on the destination PDF when you need an untouched original. Save or rename the duplicate after reviewing the merged sequence.

The original Mac PDF changed unexpectedly
Preview saves changes automatically. Restore the untouched source from a backup if available, and for future merges duplicate the destination with File > Duplicate before moving pages.
