How to complete An Unlikely Invitation
Bethesda lists listening to the Vault-Tec broadcast as the quest prerequisite. Once it appears on your Pip-Boy, follow these steps:

- Listen to the Vault-Tec broadcast. Tune in through your Pip-Boy and let the broadcast play to begin the quest.
- Find the crashed Vault 63 door north of Sutton. Speak with Alyssa at the crash site.
- Travel to Vault 63. When you reach its exterior, approach the entrance area to trigger completion. A walkthrough reports this as the completion point.
Bethesda’s quest page identifies Into Lands Unknown as the following quest. Bethesda’s An Unlikely Invitation quest page provides the official prerequisite and quest sequence; the practical step-by-step route is corroborated by the Fallout Wiki walkthrough.
Where to find the crash site and Vault 63
For map orientation, GameSkinny places the crash site east of the Wayward. It puts Vault 63 west of Garrahan Estate and northwest of Hornwright Testing Site #03. These are landmarks from a secondary guide, not official coordinate instructions. If Vault 63 is already known to your character, the Fallout Wiki walkthrough says fast travel there is sufficient.

Level requirement and Alyssa troubleshooting
Level 25 is relevant to this quest. Bethesda’s May 16, 2024 Skyline Valley Public Test Server notes record that the minimum level was raised from 20 to 25. Bethesda later documented an issue affecting players who spoke to Alyssa before reaching level 25, and its support page says that issue was resolved in an update released September 3, 2024.

Bethesda also recorded a fix in the September 17, 2024 Milepost Zero release notes for players who were stuck speaking with Alyssa during this quest. If the objective still will not advance, check your current quest objective and level, then consult Bethesda Support’s quest page for the documented status. The reviewed guidance does not establish a universal troubleshooting checklist for every stuck quest state.

Reward lists vary between secondary guides, and Bethesda’s official quest page does not enumerate them. The Fallout Wiki lists the Plan: Pip-Boy 2000 burnt paint alongside assorted aid, a grenade, caps, and XP. GameSkinny reports 50 caps, three Stimpaks, RadAway, purified water, a Plasma Grenade, and XP. Treat these as guide-reported rewards, not independently verified guarantees for every current player.
