To complete Brushstroke Whimsy, finish the Jean Morin’s Letter quest chain, buy a Drawing Board from Ka Ching for 2,000 in-game Gold, place and use it to paint, then open Gallery through the board. The later quest step asks you to make a clothes canvas design and sew it at a Work Bench.
What you need before starting
The quest listing places Jean Morin’s Letter before Brushstroke Whimsy and lists D.G. Developer Level 14 as a prerequisite. One walkthrough says to speak with Dorothee at the Clothing Store about the letter, then follow the objective to Ka Ching. If your journal shows a different sequence, complete its active prerequisite and follow the current quest marker.
How to complete Brushstroke Whimsy
- Finish the letter prerequisite. Check your journal for Jean Morin’s Letter. Speak with Dorothee at the Clothing Store if that is the active objective, then follow the marker to Ka Ching.
- Buy the Drawing Board. Visit Ka Ching’s General Store and purchase the Drawing Board for 2,000 Gold, an in-game currency cost.
- Place the board and complete a painting. Put the Drawing Board at your home or in town, interact with it, start a painting, and finish it. Both locations are listed as valid.
- Open Gallery from the board. When the journal asks you to “View Gallery,” interact with the placed Drawing Board and choose Gallery or browse designs. It is accessed through the board, not a general menu. A guide last verified August 13, 2026, places the Gallery control at the middle icon above the board; icon placement may vary by version.
- Make and sew a clothes design. For the later clothing objective, create a clothes canvas on the Drawing Board, then take the design to a Work Bench and sew it.
- Check the journal for the next objective. The quest listing also says to share the news with Dorothee, but does not make clear whether that conversation is a separate required completion step. If the objective remains active after sewing, return to Dorothee and follow the journal marker.
If “View Gallery” is not working
- Use the placed board. Interact directly with the Drawing Board rather than searching the general menus.
- Check the active objective. Confirm that you have placed the board and completed the painting step if the journal has not yet advanced.
- Look for Gallery or browse designs. The control may appear as an icon above the board; one August 13, 2026 guide describes it as the middle icon.
- Follow the live journal if labels differ. The available walkthroughs were published or verified on different dates, so wording or icon positions may change between versions.
Quest rewards and version notes
The community quest listing does not establish a complete reward total. Some reward values are unclear, so there is no reliable basis here for stating the full payout. Quest order, objective text, and interface details can also change; use the journal and active quest marker when they conflict with older walkthroughs. A separate walkthrough was published January 24, 2026, and the Gallery guide was updated July 7, 2026.
