Clampdown is a side quest added in Cyberpunk 2077’s free Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5. To unlock it, finish The Heist and its immediate follow-up, complete two gigs for Wakako Okada, then answer Wakako’s message about King and track the mission in your Journal. During the quest, deactivate V’s Reaper first, optionally disable Wex’s chip before Miguel’s, and then deactivate Miguel’s chip. That order removes the time pressure and can keep Wex alive. The quest awards Coronation, an Iconic Tech Revolver, and a complete five-piece King gear set; neither the prisoner decision nor Wex’s fate changes those main rewards.
What is Clampdown in Cyberpunk 2077?
Clampdown is a standalone side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. It arrived with Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5, which adds the mission and a five-piece gear set based on King. The content is part of the free update, and Phantom Liberty is not required. The update supports PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

How do I start Clampdown?
You must complete the opening sequence that returns Night City to free exploration, finish two Wakako Okada gigs, and then respond to Wakako’s message. The game does not list a fixed Street Cred requirement or guaranteed waiting period.

- Finish the immediate follow-up sequence until Night City is open again.
- Complete any two gigs assigned by Wakako Okada.
- Wait for Wakako to message you about King.
- Reply to the message, open the Journal and track Clampdown.
Some unofficial guides mention Street Cred 16 as a possible trigger, but it is not an official prerequisite. If the message does not arrive immediately, continue playing or complete other activities rather than treating that number as a hard requirement.
How do I meet King and enter the prison?
Travel to the BuryGer near the MLK & Brandon fast-travel point in Santo Domingo. Sit at the marked table and accept King’s request to extract Miguel. The conversation at the meeting does not change the mission outcome.

At the prison, use Remote Deactivation on the terminal visible from the cell. Go through the opened gate and bathroom, then look under the bench for the smuggled duffel bag. Interacting with it equips King’s temporary outfit and the weapon Coronation.

These items form the permanent reward set obtained during the quest; the temporary disguise is part of the prison sequence.
What order should I deactivate the Reaper chips?
Use this order in the Security Cortex: V first, Wex second if you want to save him, and Miguel last. Miguel’s chip must be deactivated for the rescue to continue, while disabling V’s chip first removes the immediate time pressure.
- Leave the bathroom, defeat the guards and loot an Access Badge.
- Enter the Security Cortex and jack into the large computer.
- Read the criminal-record files for V, Miguel and Wex.
- Access the Reaper server.
- Deactivate V’s Reaper first.
- If you want Wex to survive, deactivate Wex’s Reaper before touching Miguel’s.
- Deactivate Miguel’s Reaper to continue the rescue.
Should I save Wex?
Yes, if you want Wex to survive the prison riot. Wex’s Reaper must be disabled before Miguel’s chip. If you leave it active, Wex dies; if you disable it in time, Wex survives and escapes during the riot. Wex does not provide a different main reward, so this is a narrative choice rather than a loot requirement.

How do I get my equipment back?
After the chip sequence, follow the hallway to the elevator and continue into the prison yard. Fight through the guards and reach the Armory. Use the equipment locker there to recover V’s original weapons and gear before the final escape.
Should I listen to King or Meshuga?
The later Crisis Control/Reaper-server decision changes how the prisoners are handled and how King reacts, but it does not change the principal King-gear or Coronation rewards.

How do I escape the prison and finish Clampdown?
Continue through the prison, defeat Darius Bale and reach the Morgue sector. The mine sequence is required to open the route out.
- Reach the back wall in the Morgue sector.
- Plant the mine on the back wall.
- Step behind the door for cover.
- Wait for the detonation, then move through the opening.
- Keep driving or running while the four-star NCPD pursuit is active.
- Continue until the wanted level reaches zero.
- Answer or finish the closing calls from Meshuga and King.
The quest is complete when the post-escape calls occur and the wanted level disappears.

Neither saving Wex nor choosing King over Meshuga adds a separate reward tier. Those decisions affect survival, the escape scene and dialogue.
What should I do if Clampdown does not appear?
- Confirm that The Heist and its immediate follow-up sequence are complete and free exploration has resumed.
- Check that two Wakako gigs, not gigs from another fixer, are finished.
- Look for Wakako’s message about King and reply to it.
- Track the mission manually in the Journal after replying.
- Do not assume Street Cred 16 is mandatory; the official requirements do not specify a threshold.

Is Clampdown included with the base game?

Can I replay the Wex decision and change his fate?
Only by loading a save from before the Reaper-server sequence or starting another playthrough. Wex’s survival is determined by whether his chip is disabled before Miguel’s.
Does the prisoner choice affect the ending of Clampdown?
It changes the prison scene, the escape cover and King’s reaction. The closing calls still complete the quest, and the main gear rewards remain unchanged.
Where do I recover V’s weapons during Clampdown?
After the Reaper-chip sequence, proceed through the elevator and prison yard to the Armory. An equipment locker there restores V’s original weapons and gear.
