Pokémon GO’s 2025 Fashion Week ran from January 10 to January 19, and its Collection Challenge and paid Timed Research have expired. Players who completed them during the event could catch seven specified Pokémon for the free challenge or buy an optional ticket for a two-stage set of tasks. Neither activity can be completed now.
What were the two ways to take part?
Fashion Week offered two separate activities. The free Collection Challenge required catching a set of seven Pokémon. The optional paid Timed Research involved catching Pokémon, walking, spinning PokéStops or Gyms, and taking snapshots. Buying the ticket was not required for the Collection Challenge.

How did the Collection Challenge work?
During the event, catch each of these seven Pokémon:
- Skitty
- Buneary
- Diglett wearing a fashionable costume
- Furfrou
- Bruxish
- Blitzle wearing a fashionable costume
- Kirlia wearing a fashionable costume
Completing the list awarded 5,000 XP and an encounter with fashionable Shinx, according to Leek Duck’s 2025 event record. The in-game Today View’s Events tab showed the challenge’s acquisition requirements. Niantic notes that a Collection Challenge can specify whether a Pokémon must be caught, hatched, evolved, or traded; for this event, the recorded list is catch-focused. What were the paid Timed Research tasks?
The ticket cost US$5 or the local equivalent at the time. It could be gifted to Great Friends or higher, could not be purchased with PokéCoins, and was generally non-refundable subject to applicable law and terms. The task sequence below is historical; the deadline has passed.
Fashion Week (1/2)
- Catch 10 Pokémon — Furfrou encounter.
- Catch 20 Pokémon — Furfrou encounter.
- Explore 2 km — Furfrou encounter.
- Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms — Furfrou encounter.
- Take snapshots of 4 different wild Pokémon — fashionable Minccino encounter.
Stage rewards: the Runway Pose, 1,000 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.

Fashion Week (2/2)
- Catch 30 Pokémon — Furfrou encounter.
- Catch 40 Pokémon — Furfrou encounter.
- Explore 4 km — Furfrou encounter.
- Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms — Furfrou encounter.
- Take snapshots of 8 different wild Pokémon — fashionable Minccino encounter.
Stage rewards: fashionable Dragonite, 2,500 Stardust, and 2,500 XP. The task and reward sequence is recorded in Leek Duck’s event listing.
Can you still complete the event?
No. Fashion Week ended Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Both the event Collection Challenge and Timed Research were time-limited, and the paid research had to be completed and claimed before that deadline. Where could players find the required Pokémon?
During the event, fashionable Diglett, Skitty, Buneary, fashionable Blitzle, Furfrou, and Bruxish appeared more frequently in the wild; some Trainers could also encounter fashionable Kirlia. The event also offered other encounter routes, but an appearance in a reward pool did not guarantee a particular player would receive that Pokémon.
Raids
- One-star raids: fashionable Shinx, fashionable Minccino, and Furfrou.
- Three-star raids: fashionable Butterfree and fashionable Dragonite.
Field Research
The official announcement said event-themed Field Research awarded XP, Stardust, and event-themed Pokémon encounters. Serebii’s historical task record listed these possible task rewards:

These are recorded possibilities, not a guarantee that every player received every encounter. Serebii’s Field Research archive records the task and reward options; the official event announcement confirms the event’s Field Research and raid offerings.

- Catch Stardust was doubled.
- Trainers level 31 and above had a doubled chance to receive Candy XL from catches.
- Fashionable Kirlia had an increased shiny chance in the wild.
- Fashionable Butterfree, fashionable Dragonite, fashionable Minccino, and Furfrou had an increased shiny chance through Field Research rewards and raids.
Those shiny boosts applied to the stated Pokémon and routes; they were not a general boost for every species or encounter method. Fashionable Minccino and fashionable Cinccino also made their Pokémon GO debuts during the event. These mechanics are listed in the official announcement.
