It has ended, so its Timed Research and paid research can no longer be completed or claimed. This guide records what players needed to do while the event was live and which details were officially published.
Event schedule and completion deadline
The event was available from Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. until Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The deadline applied to completing and claiming the event’s Timed Research rewards; the event is now over. Pokémon GO’s official announcement gives the schedule and event details.

What players needed to do
Leave room for the daily bonus Field Research
Before your first login each day, players needed to have three or fewer active Field Research tasks to receive the event’s bonus daily task. It awarded PokéCoins, with a rare chance for a task that awarded extra PokéCoins. The announcement does not specify the amount of either reward.
Explore Routes for Timed Research rewards
The event’s Route-themed Timed Research offered XP, Stardust, and 10 Zygarde Cells. The announcement confirms the overall reward but does not list the individual task steps, so a step-by-step checklist cannot be verified from that source.

Wild encounters
Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, and Dunsparce appeared more frequently in the wild. Gyarados and Dratini could also appear. The event specifically increased the chance of encountering Shiny Ekans; Pokémon GO did not publish a numerical rate.
2 km Eggs
Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi could hatch from 2 km Eggs. The chance of hatching Shiny Nosepass was increased, but the announcement gives no exact odds.

Optional paid Timed Research
While the event was live, a US$2.00 ticket—or local equivalent—unlocked paid Timed Research. Its listed rewards were two Lucky Eggs, one Incubator, and encounters with Ekans and Nosepass. Players had to finish the research and claim its rewards by February 2, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The ticket and research are now expired.
Lucky trade bonus
During the event, the chance of receiving Lucky Pokémon in trades and becoming Lucky Friends was increased. The official announcement did not publish numerical odds for either bonus.

- The species checklist for the Collection Challenge.
- Numerical Shiny encounter or hatch rates, or numerical Lucky trade and Lucky Friends odds.
