“The Baron is reportedly hoarding gold in his office” was a Found quest in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2: LAWLESS, which ended on May 2, 2025, Eastern Time. It is no longer an active quest in the current game. When it was available, the objective sent players to Valentina at Outlaw Oasis, then to Fletcher Kane’s safe to defeat six guards before returning to her. Epic’s season announcement confirms the season and its end date.
Where to start the Baron gold quest
During Chapter 6 Season 2, go to Outlaw Oasis and find Valentina. Speak with her and select “Get Briefed” to begin the objective. Destructoid’s February 25, 2025 guide and contemporaneous walkthroughs identify Valentina as the starting NPC at Outlaw Oasis. Destructoid’s quest guide

How to complete the objective
- Talk to Valentina: At Outlaw Oasis, interact with her and choose “Get Briefed.”
- Follow her to the safe: Valentina leads you to Fletcher Kane’s safe.
- Defeat six guards: Eliminate the six guards at the safe encounter.
- Return to Valentina: Interact with her again to complete the objective.
This sequence is documented in contemporaneous guides from Games Fuze and Esports.gg. These are historical walkthroughs, not confirmation that the quest is currently playable.
Why the quest may not have progressed
Destructoid reported a progression bug in February 2025: after speaking to Valentina, some players did not get the expected progress. Its guide suggested trying Ranked mode as a workaround, while noting that the cause was unknown. This was a historical, unofficial suggestion—not a guaranteed fix, and it does not establish a solution for the current game.

When the quest was available
The objective belonged to the Chapter 6 Season 2-era Outlaws story quests. The community-maintained Fortnite Wiki quest record documents the quest line, while Epic’s official announcement states that Chapter 6 Season 2 ended May 2, 2025, Eastern Time. The quest should therefore be treated as expired rather than as a current challenge.
