Use one of the Predator Atlas 8’s two Thunderbolt 4 ports for external video. Connect directly to a TV with a suitable USB-C-to-HDMI cable or adapter, connect to a monitor with USB-C or USB-C-to-DisplayPort, or attach a Thunderbolt 4 dock when you need several ports. The handheld has no built-in HDMI connector in Acer’s published I/O list. Before buying cables, verify your exact unit: “Intel Arc G3 Extreme” identifies a processor option, while Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51) is the handheld model. Acer’s Canadian PA08-I51-G9Y7 configuration is documented with the Extreme processor, but not every Atlas 8 configuration or region necessarily uses it. See Acer’s announcement for the documented configuration and port list: Acer’s Predator Atlas 8 announcement.
What exactly is the Acer Arc G3 Extreme?
The name combines two different things. Predator Atlas 8 (PA08-I51) is Acer’s handheld computer; Intel Arc G3 Extreme is one processor option for that family. Treating “Arc G3 Extreme” as the handheld model can lead you to the wrong port layout or power information. Check the model label, system information and regional Acer listing for your own device before ordering accessories.

Acer describes the Atlas 8 as having two Thunderbolt 4 ports that support display output and docking. Its published handheld I/O list does not include a native HDMI socket, so an HDMI television requires a USB-C-to-HDMI video path. The two Thunderbolt ports are the ports to use for all of the connection methods below. Acer’s published specifications are collected in its 2026 announcement: Acer, 2026.
What do I need before connecting a display?
Start with the display’s input, then choose a cable or dock that carries video over Thunderbolt 4/USB-C. A charging-only USB-C lead is not enough.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- TV with HDMI: a USB-C-to-HDMI video cable, or a USB-C-to-HDMI video adapter plus a standard HDMI cable.
- Monitor with USB-C video input: a USB-C cable advertised for video and a monitor USB-C port that accepts video, not only charging or USB data.
- Monitor with DisplayPort: a USB-C-to-DisplayPort video cable or adapter.
- Dock: a Thunderbolt 4 dock with the HDMI or DisplayPort outputs you need, plus host Power Delivery if you want one-cable charging.
- Power: Acer lists a 65 W USB-C power supply for the handheld. That figure describes Acer’s listed supply, not a guarantee that every dock will provide equivalent power while gaming.
A USB-C-shaped connector does not by itself prove video capability. Acer’s support guidance warns that “not all USB-C ports are able to carry a video signal”; the Atlas 8’s specified Thunderbolt 4 ports are the exception described for display output. The general USB-C guidance is available from Acer Answers.
How do I connect the Atlas 8 to a TV?
For a television, the direct route is Thunderbolt 4 on the handheld to HDMI on the TV. The TV and adapter must both be set to the matching input before Windows can show the desktop.
- Locate an unused HDMI input on the television and note its label, such as HDMI 1 or HDMI 2.
- Plug a suitable USB-C-to-HDMI video cable into either Atlas 8 Thunderbolt 4 port. If you are using an adapter, connect the adapter to the handheld and then connect an HDMI cable from the adapter to the TV.
- Turn on the TV and select the exact HDMI input used in step 2 with the television remote.
- On the Atlas 8, open Settings > System > Display. Windows should show the internal panel and the television. Select Duplicate, Extend or Show only on 2, depending on whether you want the same image, a second desktop or the TV as the only screen.
- Select the external display in Display settings and apply the arrangement you want. Keep the built-in screen enabled while troubleshooting so you can still see Windows if the TV loses signal.
Acer’s documentation establishes the port’s display function and the HDMI connection method, but it does not promise a particular resolution, refresh rate, HDR mode or audio result for every TV, cable and adapter combination. Those characteristics depend on the complete path from the Thunderbolt port through the adapter and HDMI input. See Acer’s port information at Acer’s 2026 specification announcement.
Can I use a USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable with a monitor?
Yes, if the cable or adapter is designed for video and the monitor has a DisplayPort input. This is often the simplest direct connection for a DisplayPort monitor.

- Connect the USB-C end of a video-rated USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable to an Atlas 8 Thunderbolt 4 port.
- Connect the DisplayPort end to the monitor’s DisplayPort input.
- Use the monitor’s controls to select that DisplayPort input instead of HDMI or another source.
- Open Settings > System > Display in Windows and choose the desired multiple-display mode and screen arrangement.
Do not infer video support from the cable’s shape or from its ability to charge a device. The cable must carry a display signal, and the monitor must be listening on the selected DisplayPort input. Acer does not guarantee every third-party cable or adapter, so a direct connection with a known video-rated cable is the best isolation step if the screen remains blank.
How do I connect a USB-C monitor?
A USB-C monitor can connect directly when its USB-C input accepts video. The monitor’s USB-C socket may also provide power or USB data, but those features do not automatically mean it accepts a display signal.
- Confirm in the monitor’s documentation or on-screen input menu that its USB-C port supports video input.
- Connect a USB-C video-capable cable between that monitor input and either Atlas 8 Thunderbolt 4 port.
- Select the monitor’s USB-C source. Some displays label the mode as DisplayPort Alt Mode or DP Alt.
- In Windows, open Settings > System > Display, identify the external panel and select Extend, Duplicate or the single-display option you need.
If the monitor charges the handheld but shows no picture, charging is not evidence that the cable carries video. Swap in a cable explicitly rated for display use and verify that the monitor’s USB-C input is not charging-only.
How do I use a Thunderbolt 4 dock?
A dock is useful when you need several peripherals or a choice of HDMI and DisplayPort outputs. Connect the dock to one Atlas 8 Thunderbolt 4 port, then connect the display to an output on the dock.

- Choose a Thunderbolt 4 dock with the video outputs your display uses. Check whether it has HDMI, DisplayPort or both, and whether it supports the number of displays and peripherals you plan to attach.
- Connect the dock’s host cable to one of the Atlas 8’s Thunderbolt 4 ports.
- Connect the TV or monitor to the dock with the matching HDMI or DisplayPort cable.
- Connect the dock’s power supply if you want its Power Delivery connection to charge the handheld. Look specifically for the dock’s power delivered to the host, not just the wattage printed on its external power brick.
- Select the correct input on the TV or monitor, then open Settings > System > Display in Windows and select the display mode.
Acer lists a 65 W USB-C supply for the Atlas 8, but the available information does not certify a particular third-party dock or establish that any dock will sustain charging during demanding gameplay. A dock may run the display correctly yet provide insufficient host power for the way you use the handheld. If charging behavior matters, verify the dock’s host-output specification and test the direct display route separately.
What should I do when the external screen is blank?
Most blank-screen cases are an input-selection, cable-path or Windows display-mode problem. Work from the display outward rather than assuming the handheld’s graphics hardware has failed.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Check the display input: use the TV or monitor controls to select the HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C input physically connected to the cable.
- Check every link: confirm that the USB-C cable, any USB-C-to-HDMI or DisplayPort adapter, and the HDMI or DisplayPort cable are all rated to carry video. A charging-only USB-C cable can power a device without producing an image.
- Check Windows: open Settings > System > Display and use Identify or Detect if the external panel is not listed. Choose a multiple-display mode instead of leaving the system on the internal screen only.
- Check the dock: disconnect the dock and connect the display directly to an Atlas 8 Thunderbolt 4 port. If the direct path works, investigate the dock’s output, host cable or power configuration.
- Try the other Thunderbolt port: move the video cable to the second port, then repeat the input and Windows checks.
- Reduce the chain: remove unnecessary adapters and extension cables. A direct USB-C-to-DisplayPort or USB-C-to-HDMI connection makes it easier to identify the failed component.
Acer explicitly declines to guarantee all third-party adapters and cables. That is why replacing an unverified adapter or bypassing the dock is more useful than assuming the Atlas 8 lacks display support.
Should I use a direct cable or a dock?
Choose the shortest connection that meets your equipment needs. A direct cable has fewer components to troubleshoot; a dock is worthwhile when its extra ports or single-cable setup solve a real problem.

Do the Arc G3 Extreme specifications guarantee two external monitors?
No. Intel lists DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, HDMI 2.1 FRL and support for two displays for the Arc G3 Extreme processor. Those are processor-level capabilities, not proof that the Atlas 8 exposes native HDMI, that two external monitors work simultaneously with the built-in screen, or that a particular dock reaches a specified refresh rate.
Use the assembled connection path as the authority: the Atlas 8 port implementation, dock output, adapters, cables and monitor inputs all matter. Intel’s processor specifications are available at Intel’s product page. Acer’s own port description remains the relevant evidence that the handheld’s Thunderbolt 4 ports provide display output.

How should I verify compatibility before buying accessories?
Write down the display input and the features you actually need, then match each link in the signal path to those requirements.
- Confirm the exact Atlas 8 model and region; the Arc G3 Extreme is an option, not the handheld’s model name.
- Prefer a direct cable when one display and one matching input are all you need.
- For HDMI, buy a USB-C-to-HDMI video solution rather than searching for a nonexistent built-in HDMI port.
- For DisplayPort, select a USB-C-to-DisplayPort cable or adapter rated for video.
- For a USB-C monitor, confirm that the monitor’s USB-C port accepts video and that the cable is not charging-only.
- For a dock, count the outputs and peripherals, then check the dock’s host Power Delivery figure separately from its power-brick rating.
- Keep the retailer’s return policy in mind because Acer’s published guidance does not validate every third-party cable, adapter or dock for this handheld.
What is known about Atlas 8 availability?
Availability announcements have used different timing. Acer’s May 28, 2026 announcement projected October 2026 availability in North America, EMEA and Australia, while a September 2, 2026 Atlas 7 release described September 2026 availability for the Atlas 8 in North America and EMEA. Those announcements do not establish present stock in a particular country, and availability is separate from the connection procedure. Check a local Acer listing or authorized retailer for current inventory rather than treating either announcement as a live stock report.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can I tell whether my handheld is the Extreme configuration?
Look for the full PA08-I51 model and regional SKU, not only the “Atlas 8” name. Acer documents the Canadian PA08-I51-G9Y7 configuration with Intel Arc G3 Extreme; other regional or hardware configurations should be checked against their own Acer listing.
Does a USB-C cable that charges the Atlas 8 also carry video?
Not necessarily. Acer’s support guidance specifically cautions that USB-C ports and cables are not universally video-capable, so charging alone does not prove display support. Use a cable identified for video and a monitor input that accepts video.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Can a dock run two external monitors from the Atlas 8?
Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme specification lists support for two displays at the processor level, but that does not certify two external monitors through a particular dock or alongside the handheld screen. Confirm the dock’s own multi-display support and test the complete cable-and-monitor arrangement.
Will any 65 W dock keep the handheld charged during a game?
Acer lists a 65 W USB-C supply, but dock power varies and the published information does not certify sustained gaming charge behavior for a specific dock. Check the dock’s host-output rating and treat charging under load as a model-specific compatibility question.
