Start with the official Call of Duty League schedule. It already adjusts the displayed time for your location and states, “All times are in your local time.” In most cases, you should use that time without doing any arithmetic. Manual conversion is only necessary when you copy a kickoff from a third-party listing, broadcast graphic, venue notice, or calendar that uses a different time zone.
Use the official CDL schedule whenever possible
The official Call of Duty League schedule is the authoritative starting point for a match time. Its viewer-facing schedule explicitly says, “All times are in your local time.” That means the page is intended to detect your location and present each listed start in your local zone rather than in a single league-wide zone.

Check the stage and match date
Select the relevant stage, then verify the match date, teams, and listed start. Stage pages can change as the competition progresses, so the page you viewed weeks ago is not a permanent record of the broadcast time. Refresh the schedule shortly before watching, especially on tournament days when a delayed series can affect later coverage.
When you need to convert a time manually
Manual conversion applies when the time did not come from the localized official schedule. Common examples include a social post that says “8 p.m. ET,” an esports calendar that lists UTC, a venue announcement using local event time, or a third-party television guide. The conversion is reliable only when you know both the source time zone and the match date.
1. Record the complete source time
Write down the date, clock time, and source zone exactly as shown. Keep the date attached to the time; a conversion can move the match to the previous or next calendar day. If a listing says only “8 p.m.”, it is incomplete until you establish which zone the publisher intended.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Record whether the clock uses a 12-hour or 24-hour format.
- Copy the date as well as the time, including the year when available.
- Capture the stated zone, such as UTC, an offset such as UTC+02:00, or a regional label such as Eastern Time.
- Note whether the listing describes a scheduled match start, a broadcast start, or a venue-local time.
2. Identify the source zone instead of guessing
Do not assume every third-party listing uses Eastern Time, Pacific Time, UTC, or the venue’s zone. A publisher may use its own headquarters’ zone, a broadcaster’s standard, or the event location. If the listing does not state a zone, look for a legend, page settings, event notes, or a linked announcement that defines it. If you still cannot establish the source zone, treat the time as unverified rather than applying a guessed offset.
3. Convert the source time to UTC
UTC is the neutral intermediate step. First determine the source zone’s offset from UTC on the match date, including any daylight-saving change. Then subtract a positive offset or add a negative offset to obtain UTC.
| Source notation | Meaning | Illustrative calculation |
|---|---|---|
| UTC+02:00 | The source clock is two hours ahead of UTC | 20:00 at the source becomes 18:00 UTC |
| UTC−05:00 | The source clock is five hours behind UTC | 20:00 at the source becomes 01:00 UTC on the next date |
| UTC | No offset is applied | 20:00 remains 20:00 UTC |
The examples are arithmetic illustrations, not predictions of a particular CDL match. The date rollover in the second row is essential: 20:00 on June 12 in a UTC−05:00 source zone is 01:00 on June 13 in UTC.
4. Convert UTC to your destination zone
Choose a destination time zone identified by an IANA name, such as America/New_York or Europe/London, rather than relying on an abbreviation alone. Apply the destination zone’s offset that is in effect on the match date. IANA names are useful because they encode the location’s daylight-saving rules; abbreviations such as “ET” or “PT” can represent different offsets at different times of year.

- Some features may require an internet connection and an online subscription
Add the destination offset to UTC. If the total is below 00:00, move to the previous date. If it reaches 24:00 or later, move to the next date. Preserve minutes; a half-hour or quarter-hour offset is possible in some locations, so do not assume every conversion changes the hour by an integer.
5. Check the date after both conversions
Crossing midnight is the most common source of an apparently wrong answer. A 23:30 kickoff in the source zone can become an early-morning start on the following day for the viewer. Conversely, a late-night match in a zone east of yours can appear on the previous local date. Write the final result as a date and time together, for example, “June 13, 01:00,” rather than displaying only “1 a.m.”
Worked conversion examples
These examples show the method with stated assumptions. They are not official CDL start times.
Example: a two-hour-ahead source and a five-hour-behind viewer
- The listing says June 12 at 20:00 in a source zone that is UTC+02:00 on that date.
- Subtract two hours to obtain 18:00 UTC on June 12.
- The viewer’s zone is UTC−05:00 on June 12. Subtract five hours from UTC.
- The result is 13:00 on June 12 for the viewer.
Example: a late source time that moves to the next day
- The listing says June 12 at 23:30 in UTC+02:00.
- That is 21:30 UTC on June 12.
- The destination zone is UTC−05:00, producing 16:30 on June 12.
- If the destination had instead been UTC+05:00, the result would be 02:30 on June 13. The new calendar date must appear in your reminder.
Example: why daylight saving must be date-specific
Suppose a listing identifies a regional zone whose offset is UTC−05:00 in winter and UTC−04:00 during its daylight-saving period. A 18:00 source time converted on a winter date and the same 18:00 converted during the summer period differ by one hour. The time-zone name and the event date, not a memorized seasonal rule, determine the correct result.
Venue-local times and the 2026 schedule
Venue information matters when a third-party source describes a match as “local time.” The 2026 schedule lists multiple stages and venues. Its playoffs and championship are listed for Las Vegas, Nevada, while Major IV is listed for Paris, France. A listing that uses event-local time may therefore refer to a different zone for those competitions.
Do not infer the official viewer time from the venue alone. The official schedule is localized to the person viewing it, while an outside listing may be anchored to Las Vegas, Paris, a broadcaster’s headquarters, or another convention. Use the venue only to interpret an explicitly venue-local source time.
How to verify a conversion with everyday tools
You do not need a specialized esports application. The important requirement is a tool that accepts a date and named time zones, not just a fixed hour offset.

Use a world-clock or time-zone converter
- Enter the full source date and time.
- Choose the source’s IANA location or explicit UTC offset.
- Choose your destination IANA location.
- Confirm that the result includes the local date, not only the clock time.
- Compare the result with the official CDL schedule when it is available.
When a tool offers both a city and an offset, prefer the city or IANA location if the source identifies a regional zone. A city-based zone can apply the correct daylight-saving rule for that date; a manually entered offset may not.
Use a phone or computer’s clock app
Most current phones and desktop systems include a world-clock feature. Add a city in the source zone and a city in your own zone, then set a temporary clock or calendar event for the stated date. Check the date as well as the hour. Device labels vary by operating system and manufacturer, so the exact menu name may differ, but the workflow is the same: add locations, select the event date, and compare both clocks.
Create a calendar event safely
If you add a converted match to a calendar, set the event’s time zone explicitly instead of creating it as a floating local time. A floating entry can shift when you travel or when a calendar is viewed by someone in another zone. After saving, open the event details and confirm the displayed local date and time. For a series of matches, verify each event individually if the source zone or daylight-saving status changes between dates.
What to do when two listings disagree
Do not average the times or choose the earlier one automatically. Compare the listings in this order:
- Authority: determine whether either listing is the official CDL schedule.
- Season and stage: make sure both pages refer to the same competition segment.
- Source zone: identify the zone each listing uses and whether it is an offset, regional name, or venue-local convention.
- Venue and date: check the event location and the calendar date shown in each listing.
- Daylight saving: apply the offset that was active on that date, not a standard or summer offset remembered from another month.
- Type of time: distinguish a scheduled match start from an updated broadcast start or a pre-show time.
If the official localized schedule and an older third-party entry conflict, use the current official page and refresh it shortly before the match. If two non-official entries remain inconsistent, keep both source assumptions visible in your notes and avoid presenting either time as confirmed.

Assuming “ET” or “PT” has one permanent offset
Regional abbreviations can cover different UTC offsets during the year. Fix this by using the event date and a named location or a source that explicitly states its offset.
Converting directly from one local clock to another
Direct mental subtraction often misses daylight saving or a date rollover. Convert through UTC, writing down the intermediate date and time before applying the destination offset.

Ignoring the year
The same month and day can have different daylight-saving status in different years, and the league’s season views are separate. Include the year whenever you record a converted time.
Keeping only the hour and dropping the date
A result such as “1:30 a.m.” is ambiguous if the conversion crossed midnight. Record the complete local date and time, then check the date on your calendar reminder.

Using a cached schedule
Stage pages and match slots can change. A browser cache, screenshot, or old calendar export may show an earlier schedule. Reopen and refresh the current official page before watching.
Confusing match start with broadcast start
A listing may advertise a broadcast block, pre-show, or desk segment rather than the first map. Read the label next to the time and compare it with the official match entry.
A reliable pre-match checklist
- Open the current official CDL schedule first.
- Confirm the season, stage, match, and date.
- Use the displayed local time when the official page is available.
- If using another listing, write down its source zone and date.
- Convert source time to UTC, then UTC to an IANA destination zone.
- Apply daylight-saving rules for the event date.
- Check whether the result moves to the previous or next calendar day.
- Distinguish scheduled match time from broadcast or pre-show time.
- Refresh the schedule shortly before the match.
Technical reference: UTC, offsets and IANA names
UTC is the common reference clock used to connect two locations. A numeric offset such as UTC+02:00 tells you how far a clock is from UTC at a particular moment. An IANA time-zone name, such as America/New_York or Europe/London, identifies a region whose historical and daylight-saving rules can be applied to a dated timestamp.
The conversion can be expressed as two operations:
UTC = source local time − source offset on the match datedestination local time = UTC + destination offset on the match date
These are calendar calculations, not merely clock arithmetic. Normalize minutes, carry hours across 24:00, and change the date whenever the total leaves the original calendar day. Around a daylight-saving transition, some local clock times can occur twice or be skipped; a named-zone converter is safer than entering a fixed offset by hand.

Check the official schedule when you first plan to watch, again after selecting the correct stage, and shortly before the match. This is especially important for the 2026 events because the season contains multiple stages and venues, and for anyone switching between the 2026 and 2027 season views. If a third-party listing is the only source you have, preserve the original zone, date, and time in your notes so that a later correction can be traced instead of silently shifting your reminder.
The practical answer
For a normal viewer, there is usually nothing to calculate: the official CDL schedule already displays the time in the viewer’s local zone. Manual conversion is a fallback for outside listings. Identify their source zone and date, convert through UTC, apply the destination location’s date-specific daylight-saving offset, and verify the resulting calendar date. That process prevents the two errors that cause most missed matches: applying the wrong seasonal offset and watching on the wrong day.
