In Minecraft Bedrock, turn on Settings > Creator > Enable Copy Coordinate UI, then copy either your player’s position or the block you’re targeting. The documented keyboard shortcuts are Ctrl+Alt+C for your position and Ctrl+Alt+X for the targeted block. These instructions apply to Bedrock; the cited official documentation does not establish an equivalent built-in clipboard workflow for Java Edition.
Enable coordinate copying in Bedrock
- Open Settings.
- Select the Creator tab.
- Turn on Enable Copy Coordinate UI.
These steps are from Microsoft Learn’s Copy and Paste Coordinates guide for Minecraft Bedrock stable, last updated September 19, 2023. Labels and behavior may vary by game version or device; check the installed version’s settings if the label differs.
Choose which coordinates to copy
The copy interface offers two targets. Pick the one that matches what you need:
| Option | Coordinates copied | Quick reminder |
|---|---|---|
| Local | Your player’s current position | “Where are my feet?” |
| Cursor | The block selected by your cursor | “What am I looking at?” |
Copy coordinates by input method
Keyboard and mouse
- Press Ctrl+Alt+C to copy your Local coordinates.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+X to copy the Cursor coordinates.
You can change these bindings under Settings > Keyboard & Mouse.

Controller or touch
- Open chat.
- At the top of the chat window, choose Local or Cursor from the dropdown.
- Press the copy button. A pop-up confirms that the coordinates were copied.
Paste the copied coordinates
In a supported Minecraft command or chat field, use its paste button; with a controller, the guide specifies the Y button. The coordinates are inserted without commas. On PC, press Ctrl+V to paste them into an external text document.
Entering coordinates without copying them
If you only need coordinates to complete a command, Minecraft’s command guide says that pressing Tab can autocomplete coordinates for the block you’re looking at when the command calls for coordinates. That is command-entry assistance, not a way to copy your current position to the clipboard. See How to Use Commands in Minecraft.
Rank #2
Commands may require permission. The official guide says Bedrock single-player commands require Allow Cheats to be enabled in Game settings; multiplayer players need sufficient permission, while owners of their own server or Realm generally have permission by default. For example, the Bedrock guide lists /tp @p 100 50 100 as a coordinate-based teleport command: Popular Commands. Copying coordinates itself does not require running a command.
What about Java Edition?
The cited official copy-coordinate instructions document the Bedrock interface and shortcuts, not a Java Edition clipboard-copy method. Don’t assume the Creator setting or Bedrock shortcuts apply to Java.
