Create and publish your experience in Roblox Studio, then create its pass in Creator Hub. Once the pass is for sale, add its Asset ID to your game’s scripts and implement the benefit yourself; creating a pass listing does not add gameplay functionality.
Before you start: publish the experience
Roblox requires the experience to be published and accessible before you can create a pass. In Studio, use File > Publish to Roblox. New experiences are private by default, so check the experience’s audience and access settings if other players need to reach it or its Store listing. See Roblox’s publishing and access guidance.
Create the pass in Creator Hub
- Open Roblox Creator Hub, go to Creations, and select the published experience.
- Open Monetization > Passes, then click Create pass.
- Upload an icon no larger than 512 × 512 pixels. Roblox accepts JPG, PNG, or BMP. Keep important artwork near the center because the icon is shown with a circular crop.
- Enter a name and description, choose a category, and click Create pass.
Put the pass on sale
Creating the pass makes its listing; it does not automatically make it purchasable. To sell it, open the pass’s menu, choose Sales, enable the for-sale setting, set a price in Robux, and save. Roblox’s current pass instructions specify a price range of 1 Robux to 1 billion Robux; confirm the live Creator Hub controls when setting up a sale because platform policies and interface labels can change.
Add the pass to your game
In Monetization > Passes, open the pass thumbnail’s three-dot menu and select Copy Asset ID. You need this ID to identify the pass in scripts.

Roblox documents using MarketplaceService, GetProductInfo() with Enum.InfoType.GamePass, and PromptGamePassPurchase() to show an in-game purchase prompt. After a player buys the pass, your experience must separately check ownership and grant the promised ability or access. Follow Roblox’s pass scripting examples; do not treat the purchase prompt itself as the implementation of the benefit.
Choose a pass or a developer product
Roblox describes passes as one-time Robux purchases for special privileges. They suit benefits intended to last, such as access to a restricted area or a permanent power-up. Use a developer product for something players may buy repeatedly, such as currency, ammunition, or potions.

Roblox’s monetization overview says creators earn 70% of Robux spent on their own passes sold in their game. For another creator’s pass sold inside a game, it describes a 10% affiliate fee for the selling experience and 60% for the original creator. These are Roblox’s platform-specific revenue shares, not terms for an external affiliate program.
Cross-game sales are no longer an available setup
Roblox’s pass documentation says cross-game pass sales were disabled starting May 30, 2026. As of October 8, 2026, do not build a new experience around selling passes across games; Roblox points creators relying on those mechanics toward Robux transfers. Check the current pass documentation for the latest platform guidance.

Optional: create passes through Open Cloud
Roblox also documents an Open Cloud API endpoint for creating game passes, along with Beta endpoints to update, retrieve, and list pass configuration. This is an advanced, Beta alternative to the Creator Hub workflow, not a required step for a typical creator. See the Game passes API reference.
