To customize your HUD in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, open Barracks or the Settings cog, select Interface, scroll to Gameplay HUD, and choose a preset. You can also adjust minimap colors. If you cannot find a setting, use the search field in the Settings menu to look it up by name.
Open the Gameplay HUD settings
- From the main menu, open Barracks or select the Settings cog.
- Choose Interface.
- Scroll to Gameplay HUD.
- Select a HUD preset, then review the minimap color options and choose what is easiest for you to read.
These menu directions are documented in Call of Duty’s August 2024 multiplayer announcement. The October 23, 2024 Black Ops 6 Controls & Settings guide describes full layout presets and minimap color options. Menu labels and availability can change with updates or vary by mode and platform; the in-game Settings search field is a useful way to locate an option by name.

Choose a preset that fits how you read the screen
The preset names provide starting points rather than a guaranteed performance advantage. Call of Duty’s guide suggests trying Dot Hunter or Focused if you want to check the minimap with less eye travel. Its accessibility announcement suggests Target Tracker or Central Command for players looking to reduce visual clutter or the attention drawn to the minimap. Try the options in your own matches and keep the layout that makes the information you rely on easiest to spot.
Adjusting minimap colors and understanding the maps
HUD customization includes minimap color options, which can help you choose a presentation that is easier for you to distinguish. The Minimap and Tac Map serve different purposes: the Minimap stays on-screen during play and shows part of your immediate surroundings, while the Tac Map displays the full map and requires your Operator to remain inactive. Call of Duty’s multiplayer guide notes that many layout and map options are in Interface Settings.

HUD options documented for Zombies
Some options are specific to Zombies, so do not assume they are available in every mode. Call of Duty’s Zombies overview describes a Legacy HUD layout that removes the minimap and relocates other elements. It also documents options to turn off health bars and zombie damage numbers, along with custom interface, icon, and map colors. Check the Gameplay HUD or Interface menus while in your chosen mode to see which controls are available there.

Choose a preset, play long enough to check whether key information is easy to find, and adjust it if the minimap or other HUD elements pull your attention away from what matters to you. HUD preference is personal; the cited official materials do not establish that any one preset improves performance for everyone.
