Spoilers: Sylux’s finale has three phases, and each calls for a different response: pull off his green-orb tentacles, keep moving through hyperspace, then use charged Thunder Shots and the Control Beam at the right moments in the final duel.
Before you enter the finale
Proceeding to the finale is a point of no return, and the autosave is overwritten. GameFAQs’ Chrono Tower walkthrough warns that if you want to return for items or scans after seeing the ending, you should avoid saving the post-finale “Mission Complete” state.

A reader comment on Nintendo Life’s final-boss guide recommends refilling health and ammunition at a save station before heading to the tower. Treat that as a reader’s suggestion, not a tested requirement.

- Two display modes let you choose how to experience the adventure. Enjoy more detail in Quality Mode, which runs at 60 frames per second in 4k while docked and in 1080p while in handheld, or prioritize super-smooth action with a higher frame rate in Performance Mode, which runs at 120 frames per second in 1080p while docked and 720p in while in handheld. - Shoot the green orbs until a tentacle becomes vulnerable.
- Use the lasso to pull the vulnerable tentacle off.
- After removing the tentacles, lock on and fire a fully charged Thunder Shot during the brief opening when Sylux can be damaged.
As the battle continues, Sylux grows more tentacles shaped like elemental dragon heads. Shooting these heads can yield health or ammunition; alternatively, wait for them to return to their green-orb form and repeat the removal strategy.
Watch for the lightning attack: if it downs a companion, approach them, enter psychic mode, and hold the healing input described in Nintendo Life’s guide. Sylux’s attacks can deal heavy damage, so make use of the short damage window rather than relying on sustained fire.

Phase two: survive the hyperspace pursuit
Samus and Sylux move through hyperspace. Keep Sylux in view and fire the Power Beam while moving around the arena. Collect health drops as they appear, and stay mobile to avoid the circular projectiles and spinning batons.

Phase three: win the final platform duel
On the platform in space, use charged Thunder Shots when Sylux is in view and dodge his attacks laterally. The right counter depends on what he is doing:
| Sylux’s cue | Your response | Resource effect |
|---|---|---|
| He is in view and open to attack | Lock on and fire a charged Thunder Shot. | Deals damage during an ordinary opening. |
| He powers up and absorbs ordinary attacks | Fire the Control Beam and steer it into him. | Gets around the attack absorption. |
| He uses a LockJaw charge | Dodge laterally, then retrieve any Energy Tank he knocks loose. | If Sylux takes the tank, ram him with Boost Ball to reclaim it. |
| He uses shockwaves, melee strikes, or a health-draining beam | Prioritize dodging; the beam can lock Samus in place. Keep firing when an opening appears. | Protects health and preserves openings to attack. |
Does the Sylux amiibo help with the fight?
No. Nintendo Support says the Sylux amiibo “Grants easier access to an in-game cinematic and plays voice lines in-game.” It is an optional collectible, not a boss aid.
