Save ammunition during the chase, then target the Titan Spinner’s exposed rear once you reach the arena. Use ladders to get a clear angle, shoot a nearby red explosive canister when the spider is close to stun it, and attack during the opening. Its mouth can also be shot to stagger it and expose its rear.
Before the arena: save your ammunition
The encounter begins with a chase before the arena fight. Avoid shooting the spider during this stretch: its front can absorb substantial damage without giving you a useful payoff. Spiderlings may appear along the route, but the hatchet is a better way to handle them than spending ammunition. Follow the route to the ladder that leads into the arena. How to damage the Titan Spinner
Prioritize the exposed rear
In the arena, aim for the spider’s exposed yellow rear. Its front is a poor target by comparison. Move around the arena to line up shots; the ladders provide elevation and can slow the spider as it climbs toward you.

If a red explosive canister is nearby, let the spider get close before shooting it. The blast can stun the boss, giving you time to attack its rear. When its mouth opens, shooting it can also stagger the spider and expose the rear. Use your strongest available weapon during these brief damage windows; the encounter guides do not establish a mandatory weapon or a definitive weapon ranking.

React to the spider’s attacks
Evade web projectiles
When the spider turns and fires webs, evade the projectiles, then use the brief opening to attack. It may also leave the arena and reappear elsewhere. Automaton West reports that it cannot attack while moving along the walls, which can give you a short chance to hit its moving rear.
Clear spiderlings with the hatchet
Spiderlings can jump at Leon and immobilize him. Use the hatchet to clear them and conserve ammunition, but avoid getting locked into the hatchet animation when the boss is close.

Escape a grab near a window
If the spider grabs Leon near a window and tries to drag him out, rapidly press the button shown in the on-screen escape prompt.

A simple arena plan
- Enter the arena with ammunition saved from the chase.
- Use the ladders and reposition to get a clear view of the exposed rear.
- Wait until the spider is close before shooting a red explosive canister.
- During the stun, or after staggering it with a shot to its open mouth, attack the rear with your strongest available weapon.
- Evade webs, use the hatchet on spiderlings, and respond quickly to the escape prompt if grabbed.
