Where to find the Masked Stranger
The Masked Stranger appears at the top of the statue during the Networking quest. Gamer Guides describes the encounter as a three-part fight; defeating both the Stranger and the spider she summons opens the office. The walkthrough recommends anti-sizzle preparation for the Stranger’s Spicy Coaltana. Treat that as guide advice rather than a verified best-in-slot loadout: the available source does not establish a single required armor set or weapon. Bring healing items you can use reliably and be ready to block, then reposition when the fight changes.

How to handle each fight phase
Opening: block the melee combo
The Stranger usually attacks with a three-hit melee sequence, according to the walkthrough. Block the hits, keeping your block power in mind, and use openings between attacks to deal damage rather than trading blows.
Below 50% health: escape the charged slam
The guide reports that below half health the Stranger drinks a Rage potion, becomes more aggressive, restores some health, and gains a charged sword slam. The slam sends a spicy-damage shockwave across a broad area. When she starts channeling it, create distance instead of trying to block the shockwave; resume attacking after the area attack passes.
Around 30% health: fight the O.R.C. Wolf Spider
At about 30% health, the Stranger leaves the encounter and summons an O.R.C. Wolf Spider, as described in the walkthrough. Watch for the spider’s jump and venom buildup. The guide identifies spicy damage as useful against Wolf Spiders and offers the Sizzling Staff as one option; it also says Tier 3 builds can work. These are recommendations, not guarantees that a particular build will trivialize the fight.

Should you try the bow-and-geometry cheese?
A guide published and updated August 3, 2025 reports an exploit: lure the Stranger toward arena objects so she gets caught on the geometry, then shoot her with a bow. It also describes circling the PTS machine and shooting the spider while dodging its jump. The author warns the method may have been patched, and no source establishes that it still works in the current build. Consider it an unreliable alternative, not the core strategy; if the Stranger does not get stuck, switch back to the phase-by-phase approach. See the dated cheese report.
What defeating the boss unlocks
Once both the Masked Stranger and summoned spider are defeated, the Gamer Guides walkthrough says the office becomes accessible. It lists BURG.L’s Head, the Sizzling Key, and a crafting recipe among the rewards.
