Black Ops 3 does not document an official way to download and equip another player’s emblem. Activision’s supported route is to publish your own emblem to your Showcase and view other players’ Showcases for inspiration. Its instructions state: “While you can share your creations and view those of others for inspiration, you may only use your own creations.”
How to publish your emblem and view Showcases
Activision lists the Paintshop and Emblem Editor for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Use these in-game steps to publish your own design or browse another player’s work:

- From the main menu or a game mode menu, open the Menu and choose Identity > Paintshop to open the Emblem Editor.
- Create and save your emblem. Highlight it, open Options with the Menu button, then select Publish. Name the emblem to add it to your Showcase.
- To see your own designs, open the Menu and choose Media > My Showcase.
- To see another player’s designs, open Social, select a Friend or Recent Player, then choose Showcase.
These steps let you publish and view emblems; Activision’s instructions do not describe downloading another player’s design into your own emblem slots.

Check the content filter: open Options > Content Filter and turn on User Generated Content. Activision identifies this setting as the control for whether user-created content is visible.

What the unofficial PC option claims
The Steam Workshop listing for Emblem Studio describes a community mod for PC that adds an in-game .emblem browser, import/export tools, community file sharing, and downloads into emblem slots. The listing names Windows and Linux compatibility and was updated in September 2026. Those are the mod creator’s claims, not an official Activision feature or a guarantee that it will work with your current game setup.
Activision’s enforcement policy warns that unauthorized third-party software used to modify game data can lead to a permanent online suspension, resets of stats, emblems, and paintjobs, and removal from leaderboards. It also warns against generally offensive emblems. The policy does not establish that every Steam-listed mod violates its rules, so do not treat the mod’s advertised functions as proof of either compliance or violation. Avoid cheats, injectors, or tools that modify game data.
