Redownload a game you already own
- Connect the Xbox 360 to the internet.
- Sign in to Xbox Live with the Microsoft/Xbox account used to buy the game. A different account may not show that purchase.
- From the console dashboard, open Settings > Account > Download History.
- Find and select the game, then choose Download Again and follow the prompts.
- Choose a storage device with enough free space if the console asks where to save the game.
Xbox’s store-closure announcement confirms that previously purchased games remain available for redownload. If the title is missing from Download History, check that you are signed in with the purchasing account. A new account or an unofficial download does not restore the original digital purchase entitlement. Xbox Wire

What the Xbox 360 Store closure means
Microsoft ended new purchases through the Xbox 360 Store on the console and the Xbox 360 Marketplace on July 29, 2024. That does not prevent redownloading eligible games already purchased on your account. Xbox Wire
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Some backward-compatible Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games and add-ons are still available to buy through Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox.com. This applies only to titles with a current listing; it does not mean every Xbox 360 game can still be purchased digitally. Check the exact title in the current Xbox store before buying.
#1 Best Overall
- The Largest Collection of Classic SEGA Titles. Players will trip back in time with favorites including Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Columns, Eco the Dolphin and four titles from the Phantasy Star series, to name a few.
- Several Unlockable Titles. Included in the collection are arcade favorites such as Congo Bongo, Altered Beast, Zaxxon and more.
- All Titles Upgraded to Hi-Def. The classic 2D style never looked so good! Each title has been converted to hi-def (720p) and will be a blast to play using the intuitive controls of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems.
- Massive Multiplayer Options. Friends can play the 2-Player classics together in select games from the same console at home.
If you do not own the game digitally
Check for a backward-compatible digital listing
Search for the specific game in the Xbox store on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox.com. If it is listed for purchase, follow that store’s purchase and installation instructions. A listing for one game does not establish availability for another. Xbox Wire
Consider a physical copy
If there is no current digital listing, a physical disc may be another route if one is available for that title. Check the particular game’s requirements: a disc does not guarantee that every feature works, that online services are still active, or that no additional download is needed.
Rank #2
- Disc only. Original case and manual not included. Will come packaged in a generic case.
- The infinite possibilities in Minecraft just got bigger
- The new crafting interface in Minecraft for Xbox 360 delivers a completely new way to build Minecraft worlds where your imagination is the only limit
- Full featured Tutorial mode to teach the basics and help master essential skills faster
- Social Multiplayer - up to 4 player split screen on one console, share the experience for the first time from the comfort of your couch
Make sure the console has enough storage
Xbox 360 games can be stored on the console hard drive or supported USB storage. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 manual also describes storage devices containing a hard drive. Confirm that a device is compatible with your specific console model before relying on it. Xbox 360 console manual
Additional storage only gives the console room for downloads; it does not grant ownership of a game. You still need the purchasing account for a digital title.
