No—the Epic Games Store’s free GTA V promotion has expired. Epic offered the game from May 15 through May 21, 2020, at 11 a.m. Eastern, as a limited-time giveaway. You can still install it from Epic if it is already in your library, or check Epic’s official Free Games page for current promotions.
Can you still claim GTA 5 for free on Epic?
No. Epic’s May 15, 2020 announcement said Grand Theft Auto V could be claimed for free through May 21 at 11 a.m. Eastern. That was a one-week promotion, not a permanent free download. Epic’s Free Games page is the official place to check current offers; GTA V was not listed there when the page was checked for this article.

Which GTA V edition does Epic provide?
Epic’s current PC product listing is for GTA V Enhanced and says the product also includes GTA V Legacy. Epic says existing GTA V owners receive Enhanced automatically. If Enhanced does not appear in your library, Epic recommends resetting Library filters, restarting the Launcher, and clearing its cache; see its missing-edition support steps.

What to do if claiming or installing fails
If an Epic redemption attempt produces an error, Epic recommends trying these steps:
- Turn off any VPN and try again.
- Try a different browser or an incognito window.
- Check that the country set on your Epic account matches your current country.
- Try another device; Epic also suggests using mobile data with Wi-Fi disconnected.
For unresolved problems, use Epic Support. If the game is already owned but is missing from the Launcher library, first check that you are signed into the owning account and follow Epic’s library troubleshooting steps above.
