You cannot officially install the full The Sims 4 directly on an Android phone or iPhone. EA’s current platform list includes PC, Mac, Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation, and Xbox—but not Android or iOS. You can, however, play it on your phone by streaming it from a computer or console using Steam Link, PS Remote Play, or Xbox Remote Play.
Is The Sims 4 available as a mobile download?
As of August 18, 2026, EA’s official The Sims 4 download and purchase page does not list an Android or iPhone version. That means there is no legitimate full-game APK or iOS download from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
The base game is free on supported PC and console platforms, but “free” does not mean that a native mobile version exists. The game still requires compatible host hardware, an EA account, and internet access for remote play.
Do not confuse the Sims games
- The Sims 4: the PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox game that can be streamed to a phone.
- The Sims Mobile: a separate mobile game that EA delisted on October 21, 2025. Its servers shut down on January 20, 2026, at 1:59 p.m. UTC. See EA’s final update.
- The Sims FreePlay: a separate mobile life-simulation game, not a phone edition of The Sims 4.

Method 1: Use Steam Link from a computer
Steam Link streams a game from a computer running Steam to an Android phone, iPhone, or tablet. It does not install The Sims 4 on the phone: the computer runs the game, while the phone receives the video and sends back your controls.

What you need
- A Windows PC or Mac with Steam installed.
- The Sims 4 installed and working in the Steam library.
- Steam open and signed in on the computer.
- The official Steam Link app installed on the phone.
- A reliable Wi-Fi connection; 5 GHz Wi-Fi is preferable.
- A Bluetooth or USB-compatible controller is strongly recommended.
Setup steps
- Install The Sims 4 through Steam and confirm that it launches normally on the computer.
- Open Steam and sign in on the computer.
- Install Steam Link from Google Play or the App Store.
- Open Steam Link and pair it with the computer using the on-screen instructions.
- Select the computer, then choose Start Playing or open the Steam library.
- Launch The Sims 4.
- Connect a controller if the touch controls are difficult to use.
Because The Sims 4 has a dense PC-style interface, touch controls may be awkward for building, inventory management, and detailed menus. A controller helps, although a mouse and keyboard can remain more comfortable for some tasks.
Steam Link troubleshooting
- Make sure Steam is open, signed in, and the computer is awake.
- Connect the phone and computer to the same Wi-Fi network during initial setup.
- Check VPNs, guest-network isolation, and firewall settings if the computer is not detected.
- Restart Steam Link, Steam, the computer, and the router.
- Connect the host computer to the router with Ethernet if possible.
- Lower streaming quality if the picture is blurry or delayed.
- Test the game locally before attempting remote streaming over mobile data.
- If you see a blank screen, check whether the game opened on another monitor or was minimized, and update graphics drivers.
Method 2: Use PS Remote Play from a PS4 or PS5
PS Remote Play streams games from a PS4 or PS5 to a compatible Android device, iPhone, or iPad. The console must have The Sims 4 installed; the phone is only the streaming endpoint.

What you need
- A PS4 or PS5 with The Sims 4 installed.
- A PlayStation account.
- The official PS Remote Play app.
- A compatible phone or tablet.
- Broadband internet. PlayStation lists 5 Mbps as a minimum and recommends 15 Mbps or higher for a better experience.
- A compatible controller for the best experience.
Setup steps
- Install The Sims 4 on the PS4 or PS5.
- Enable Remote Play in the console settings.
- Install PS Remote Play from Google Play or the App Store.
- Sign in with the PlayStation account used on the console.
- Follow the app’s instructions to connect to the console.
- Open The Sims 4 from the console’s home screen or game library.
- Pair a DualSense or DUALSHOCK 4 controller if desired.
PlayStation’s current compatibility requirements vary by operating system and controller. Its official Remote Play page should be checked for your phone model and controller. Mobile data may count against your allowance.
Method 3: Use Xbox Remote Play
Xbox Remote Play lets supported phones and tablets stream games installed on an Xbox console. It does not download the Xbox version of The Sims 4 to the phone.

- Install The Sims 4 on the Xbox console.
- Enable the console’s remote features.
- Install or open the currently supported Xbox app or Remote Play pathway.
- Sign in with the Microsoft account linked to the console.
- Connect the phone to the Xbox.
- Launch The Sims 4 through the console interface.
- Use a compatible controller connected to the phone.
Xbox currently lists Android 6.0 or later and iOS 15.1 or later among supported phone operating systems, but app and browser requirements can change. Check Microsoft’s current requirements before setup.
Can cloud gaming run The Sims 4?
Cloud gaming may work without your own gaming PC or console, but availability depends on the provider’s current catalog, region, account, and plan. Do not assume that every cloud service includes The Sims 4.

For example, GeForce NOW’s requirements support Android phones and iPhones/iPads. NVIDIA lists Android 7.0 or later, at least 1 GB of available memory, iOS 15.4 or later, and 15 Mbps for HD streaming. It also recommends latency below 80 ms and a gamepad for mobile play. Check the live GeForce NOW catalog and your region before relying on it for The Sims 4.
Cloud gaming is different from remote play: remote play runs your copy on your PC or console, while cloud gaming runs a game on the provider’s server. Account linking, a subscription, a separate purchase, or catalog restrictions may apply.

Is The Sims 4 free?
EA currently lists the base game as Play for Free with a price of $0.00 on supported PC and console platforms. Expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, kits, and other optional content cost extra. The free base game does not create a free Android or iPhone installation.
Remote play can still require hardware you already own, platform accounts, an EA account, a compatible controller, and a stable internet connection. The host computer or console must remain available, powered, connected, and configured for remote access.
What not to download
A website offering “The Sims 4 Mobile APK” or “The Sims 4 IPA” is not an official installation route. Avoid files promising unlimited money, unlocked packs, or cracked DLC. They may contain malware, advertisements, account-stealing software, or an unrelated game.
- Do not disable Google Play Protect or iPhone security features to install an unknown file.
- Do not grant an alleged game unnecessary access to SMS, contacts, accessibility controls, or device administration.
- Do not enter your EA, Google, Apple, PlayStation, Xbox, or Steam password into an unofficial downloader.
- Do not confuse a third-party APK with proof that EA released a mobile version.

Important limitations
- Streaming quality depends on the host hardware, phone, Wi-Fi, internet speed, and latency.
- Touch controls may work but are not necessarily comfortable for the full PC-style interface.
- Remote play over mobile data can use a large amount of data.
- Do not assume that every save, pack, mod, or purchase transfers between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and cloud services.
- For the smoothest setup, use local Wi-Fi, keep the host device wired where possible, and connect a compatible gamepad.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: You cannot officially download the full The Sims 4 directly onto an Android phone or iPhone. If you own a computer, PS4, PS5, or Xbox, stream the game with the corresponding official remote-play app. Avoid APKs and IPAs claiming to be an official mobile version.
