Enable FSR in the game’s settings

Open the game’s Graphics or Video settings.

Look for FSR Upscaling or FSR 4. If the option is available, turn it on and choose a quality preset if the game offers one. AMD uses the name FSR Upscaling for the feature in its FSR Redstone suite; some game menus may retain the FSR 4 label. AMD’s FSR product guidance and activation guidance describe the feature and in-game route.

Check compatibility if the option is missing
FSR support is conditional, not a universal handheld setting. AMD’s supported-games listing specifies supported titles, GPU families, and driver conditions, and notes that compatibility can change. Check the exact game and your device’s supported software rather than assuming every handheld or game qualifies.

The game lists FSR Upscaling or FSR 4: use its native setting, if present.

The game does not expose a native option: check whether AMD lists the game for driver-assisted FSR and whether your handheld maker supports the necessary software path.

Neither path is supported: AMD’s guidance does not establish a universal handheld override. Do not assume sideloading desktop drivers will add the feature.

Why AMD Software’s toggle may not appear on a handheld
AMD documents a driver-assisted route for eligible PC configurations: close the game, open AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, go to Gaming > Graphics, and enable AMD FSR Upscaling. Then launch the game and enable FSR 3.1 in its graphics or video settings if needed. AMD’s instructions include prerequisites such as FSR 3.1 integration and DirectX 12 for upscaling. That desktop route should not be treated as a handheld recipe. AMD says its general Adrenalin software does not support handheld gaming devices and directs users to their device OEM for device-specific drivers. Check the maker’s supported driver and software instructions before looking for a device-level toggle.

FSR upscaling and driver-assisted ML frame generation are different features with different requirements. AMD lists FSR 3.1 and DirectX 12 criteria for upscaling; its listed requirements for driver-assisted ML frame generation include FSR 3.1.4, Windows 11, and DirectX 12. The frame-generation requirements do not establish handheld support for FSR 4 upscaling. Check AMD’s feature requirements and the game’s support details before treating one feature as proof that the other is available.
