Sony calls the feature “Console Sharing and Offline Play”; it can be active on only one PS5 at a time.
Enable Console Sharing and Offline Play
- Sign in on the PS5 using the PlayStation account whose purchased games and media you want to share.
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
- Select Enable.
Sony says the feature is automatically allowed on the first PS5 used to sign in to PlayStation. If the setting is already enabled on another PS5, disable it on that console before enabling it on this one. Sony’s PS5 Console Sharing and Offline Play guide describes the setup and account requirements.
What game sharing lets other users do
On a PS5 with Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled, other users of that console can play games and use media the account holder purchased and downloaded, including when the console is offline. Some PlayStation Plus benefits can also be shared, but not every benefit is eligible. Content or benefits that require PlayStation Plus depend on the owning account having an active subscription.
Sharing does not transfer ownership: the games must have been purchased by the account enabling the feature. For subscription games, access also depends on the game remaining available through PlayStation Plus.

Move sharing to a different PS5
Sony allows Console Sharing and Offline Play on one PS5 console at a time. If you can use the current console, sign in there and disable the feature, then enable it on the new PS5.
If the old console is unavailable, sign in to PlayStation Account Management and use the option to deactivate all devices remotely. Sony limits remote deactivation of all devices to once every six months. This remote option deactivates devices, so use it when you cannot turn off sharing on the old PS5 directly.

Fix activation or missing games
You cannot enable the setting
- Check whether another PS5 has Console Sharing and Offline Play enabled; disable it there first.
- Check PlayStation service status for an outage.
- Update the PS5 system software and restart the console.
- Power cycle the router by turning it off for at least five minutes, then turn it back on.
Games or PlayStation Plus benefits are missing
- Confirm the signed-in account that enabled sharing purchased and downloaded the game or media.
- For PlayStation Plus content or benefits, confirm that account’s subscription is active and that the game is still available through the service.
- If another account owns the game, confirm that account has enabled Console Sharing and Offline Play on this PS5.
- A padlock on a game can point to a license or network issue.
