A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To use Minecraft’s official ray tracing, you need Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on Windows, a DirectX hardware ray-tracing-capable GPU, and a supported ray-tracing Marketplace world. The feature is not the same as Java Edition shader mods. Check compatibility first, then download a supported world and follow its current in-game prompts.
Check that your PC and edition are compatible
Minecraft’s official Windows ray-tracing feature is for Bedrock Edition. Minecraft’s PC feature comparison lists ray tracing for Bedrock, not Java; Java shader mods are a separate option and do not enable this official feature. Minecraft Help publishes these minimum requirements for ray tracing in Bedrock Edition for Windows:
- 64-bit Windows.
- A DirectX hardware ray-tracing-capable GPU. Minecraft gives NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series and higher and AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series and higher as examples; these are examples, not a complete compatibility list.
- An Intel Core i5 or equivalent CPU.
- More than 8 GB of RAM.
- Bedrock Edition version 1.16.200 or higher.
- PC hardware; VR and Mixed Reality headsets are not supported.
These are Minecraft’s published minimums, not a promise of a particular resolution, frame rate, or performance level. Check the full minimum requirements for ray tracing if your GPU model is not among the examples. Minecraft also notes that Windows and graphics drivers may need updating.

Get into a world that supports ray tracing
Minecraft directs players to selected Marketplace worlds to experience ray tracing and describes those worlds as free to download. Not every Marketplace world supports the feature, and an existing world does not automatically become ray-traced simply because your PC meets the hardware requirements. Choose a world identified as supporting ray tracing and follow the current prompts in the game.
The official overview does not document a verified, current click-by-click graphics-toggle path. Menu labels and positions can change, so avoid relying on an unverified sequence of settings. The dependable route is to confirm that you have the right Windows edition and hardware, then use supported content: Minecraft’s Ray Tracing page.

Ray tracing and Vibrant Visuals
Minecraft says Vibrant Visuals does not replace the Windows ray-tracing feature. Its official Ray Tracing page states: “There are no changes planned to ray tracing for Windows with the announcement of Vibrant Visuals. Ray tracing for Windows will continue to perform on all supported devices as before, even once Vibrant Visuals is released.”
