How to Play Stormblade in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance

Stormblade is a close-range damage class built around managing a specialization-specific resource and keeping its attacks flowing. Before choosing a specialization, use the starter skill order as a leveling bridge; after unlocking one, switch to its own combat loop. Iaido Slash spends Thunder Sigils during Volt Surge burst windows, while Moonstrike manages Blade Intent, Thundercut, and Scythe Wheel.

Stormblade’s core combat loop

Stormblade fights at melee range with a Reaper Scythe. Its gameplay is active: keep damage skills available, build and spend the resource your specialization uses, and stay close enough to execute the rotation. The two specializations have different priorities, so avoid treating one skill order as universal.

Choose a specialization by its play style

Specialization Resource and loop What it rewards Trade-offs
Iaido Slash Build Thunder Sigils and spend them, especially during Volt Surge. Precise burst timing and sufficient Critical Hit Rate. Its burst is latency-sensitive; higher latency can make it harder to fit as many finishers into Volt Surge. Prydwen rates it higher for single-target damage and notes lower party utility in its guide assessment.
Moonstrike Use Blade Intent for Thundercut and keep Scythe Wheel in the rotation. Haste and Luck breakpoints; certain Haste thresholds give Thundercut additional hits. Performance depends on reaching stat breakpoints, and Scythe Wheel may behave inconsistently in some fights. Prydwen rates it higher for area damage in its guide assessment.

These damage and utility comparisons are Prydwen’s guide ratings, not official balance data or independently measured benchmarks. Both specializations are described as viable in that guide’s update context; neither is a universal best choice.

How to play Iaido Slash

Iaido Slash is the burst-oriented option. Generate Thunder Sigils, then spend them while Volt Surge is active. Prydwen describes Volt Surge as the main burst window: during it, sigil-generating actions can fill the resource, allowing you to chain spenders. Critical Hit Rate supports consecutive high-powered spenders, and execution can be affected by latency.

  • Use Volt Surge as the window for rapid sigil generation and spending rather than treating it as an ordinary damage cooldown.
  • Prioritize sufficient Critical Hit Rate for the guide’s described consecutive-spender pattern; exact gearing targets depend on your progression and patch.

How to play Moonstrike

Moonstrike’s loop centers on Blade Intent, Thundercut, and recurring Scythe Wheel damage. Rather than focusing on a single Volt Surge burst, keep Scythe Wheel in the rotation and use Thundercut as your main repeated attack. Haste and Luck matter because Thundercut gains additional hits at certain Haste thresholds.

Do not copy endgame stat targets as beginner requirements. Prydwen’s complete Moonstrike recommendations assume Level 140/150 set gear and a Level 150 relic weapon, and its specialization page was last updated February 10, 2026—before Season 4. Use its threshold discussion as context, not as a verified current-season build.

Starter skills before specialization

The Star Resonance Fan Hub suggests this temporary unlock order: Overdrive, Flash Strike, Scythe Wheel, then Volt Surge. It explicitly frames the order as a pre-specialization bridge; once a specialization is available, use a setup designed for that specialization. The following priority is fan guidance, not a verified Season 4 endgame rotation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Add Overdrive when it unlocks.
  2. Add Flash Strike next.
  3. Add Scythe Wheel, then Volt Surge.
  4. Keep Scythe Wheel active when possible.
  5. During Volt Surge, use Overdrive when below maximum Thunder Sigils, then use Flash Strike when available and you have at least three sigils.
  6. Outside Volt Surge, use Oblivion Combo when ready. Use Flash Strike when available at three or more sigils; otherwise use basic attacks to keep building until a trigger is met.

Experimenting and changing classes

Prydwen’s beginner guide says character level, talent points, and quest/account progression carry over when you swap classes, while weapons do not. It also says talent allocation can be reset. That makes experimentation practical, but you will still need the appropriate class weapon and a skill setup that matches the specialization you intend to play.

What Season 4 changes—and what remains uncertain

The official Season 4 announcement dated October 8, 2026 says class talents are being upgraded with past-season set and Factor effects and describes resets to Season 3 seasonal progression elements. It does not specify Stormblade talent changes, a current skill priority, or updated Stormblade gear breakpoints. The mechanics above explain the known class loops, but no specific build here should be read as a confirmed Season 4 best setup.
