To enable a Roblox beta feature, install and sign in to Roblox Studio, then open File → Beta Features. Check the feature you want, click Save, and restart Studio when prompted. Roblox beta features are enabled in Studio—not from the regular Roblox website or mobile app—and each feature has its own toggle.
What you need
- Roblox Studio installed on Windows or Mac.
- A Roblox account signed in to Studio.
- A supported computer. Roblox’s current setup documentation lists Windows 10, macOS 10.14, and 3 GB of RAM as minimum requirements.
Download and install Studio using Roblox’s official Studio setup documentation.
How to turn on a Roblox beta feature
- Open Roblox Studio and sign in.
- Open the File menu.
- Select Beta Features.
- Find the feature you want and check the box beside its name.
- Click Save.
- Fully restart Roblox Studio if prompted. A restart may be required before the feature appears or works.
There is no single verified “Enable Roblox Beta” switch in current Studio documentation. Beta features are separate options, so enable only the feature or features you need.
Examples of Studio beta features
Input Action Manager
Enable Input Action Manager through File → Beta Features, click Save, and restart Studio. Once enabled, open it from Window → Input → Input Action Manager. See Roblox’s Input Action Manager announcement.

Multi-touch Simulation
Check Multi-touch Simulation in File → Beta Features, save, and restart if Studio requests it. This feature lets mouse input simulate mobile gestures such as pinching, rotating, and two-finger panning in the Studio Emulator. Roblox announced this beta on February 19, 2026; availability can depend on the Studio version and rollout.

Styling Transitions
Open File → Beta Features, check Styling Transitions, click Save, and restart Studio when prompted. Roblox announced this beta on May 21, 2026.

New Studio Camera Controls
Look for New Studio Camera Controls in File → Beta Features. The Studio interface documentation identifies this beta as the option associated with adjusting camera speed using the right mouse button and mouse wheel. Roblox may change the label or behavior in later Studio versions.

Enable Multi-line Command Bar from File → Beta Features, then save and restart if required. Open the Command Bar through Script → Command Bar or Window → Script. The shortcut is Ctrl+9 on Windows and ⌘9 on Mac. Use Run or Ctrl+Enter on Windows and ⌘Enter on Mac to execute code. The current shortcuts and interface paths are listed in Roblox’s Studio UI overview.
If Beta Features or a feature is missing
1. Update Roblox Studio
Check the upper-right corner of Studio for an Update button. If an update is available, click it. Studio will ask you to save or close the open place, then update and restart. Afterward, check File → Beta Features again.

2. Restart Studio completely
Closing the Beta Features window is not the same as restarting Studio. Save your place, close Studio, and open it again if the feature does not appear immediately.
3. Check the exact feature name
Beta labels can change. For example, Avatar Previewer was renamed Avatar Setup in November 2023. Tutorials that tell you to find an Avatar Previewer checkbox are using an outdated name.

4. Account for staged availability
Roblox does not necessarily show the same beta-feature list to every user. Some features are tested with limited groups or released gradually. If a checkbox is absent after updating Studio, that does not automatically mean you used the wrong menu or missed a step.

The list and labels in your installed version of Studio are the most relevant reference. Roblox’s Studio setup documentation explains the current menu path.

No. The verified process uses the Studio interface: File → Beta Features → check a feature → Save → restart Studio. Roblox does not provide a command-line or Luau command for enabling Studio beta features.
You also do not normally need to enroll in the old separate Beta Tester program for Studio Beta Features. Roblox moved Studio beta access to the in-Studio Beta Features menu.

Studio beta versus a beta for players
Enabling a Studio beta does not automatically put your live experience into a player-facing beta. Studio Beta features are primarily editor or local-testing options. Some Roblox systems use separate testing phases.
For example, Roblox moved Server Authority from Studio Beta to Client Beta on April 30, 2026. Instructions saying that the current Server Authority client experience is enabled only from File → Beta Features may therefore be outdated. Client Beta is the phase Roblox describes for publishing Server Authority experiences for broader player testing. See Roblox’s Client Beta announcement and its explanation of the earlier Studio Beta phase.
