Turn on Twitch’s global Drops & Quests alerts from Settings → Notifications → Marketing, then use a stream’s Drops & More panel for live progress and Drops Inventory for every campaign, claim deadline and reward status. Notifications are optional: Twitch says disabling them does not prevent you from earning Drops.
What Twitch Drops notifications actually control
Twitch Drops are campaign rewards tied to a game, partner or event. A campaign can require watch time, a subscription or another condition selected by its organizer. Notifications are an awareness feature, not an eligibility switch. They tell you when relevant activity or a reward is available; they do not determine whether your viewing counts.

Twitch describes the in-chat panel as a way to track progress without leaving the stream. The same account can have several campaigns active, so the inventory is the authoritative place to review everything rather than relying on one notification or banner.

Enable global Twitch Drops notifications
- Sign in to the Twitch account you use for the campaign.
- Open your profile menu and choose Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Scroll to the Marketing section.
- Turn on Drops & Quests.
- Save the change if Twitch presents a save button.
This setting is global for your account. It is useful when you follow several games or do not want to keep checking each campaign manually. It does not subscribe you to a campaign, make an ineligible channel count, or change a campaign’s watch-time requirement.
Use a channel’s bell for narrower alerts
Open the participating channel and select its bell icon. Choose the notification level that suits you. The bell is a channel-level control, while Drops & Quests under Marketing is the broader Drops alert. You can use both, but changing one does not replace the other.

Find a stream where viewing can count
Open a stream that visibly carries the Drops Enabled tag. Twitch says viewers see that designation in the Twitch directory. The campaign may also require the stream to be in the correct game category and to belong to a participating channel; merely watching any stream, or a streamer discussing the game, is not enough.
- Confirm the displayed game category matches the campaign.
- Look for the Drops Enabled label before you start accumulating time.
- Stay signed in to Twitch in the account that should receive the reward.
- Check the campaign’s own requirement, because watch-time and subscription-based Drops follow different rules.
If a campaign lists several eligible channels, you can switch among those channels, but only eligible viewing is counted. A notification alone is not proof that the current stream qualifies; use the tag and the campaign details.

Track progress without leaving the stream
Open Drops & More from chat
- While watching an eligible stream, find the bottom of the chat panel.
- Select the Drops icon. If a banner appears at the top of chat, selecting that banner opens the same area.
- Review the Drops & More panel.
- Open the reward card to read the requirement and inspect its progress bar.
The panel identifies the reward and the associated game or partner. Twitch can display an EXPIRING SOON warning there when a deadline is close. The bar reflects the campaign’s condition, such as accumulated watch time; it is not a general timer for every Drop on Twitch.

Understand the requirement shown on the card
Campaigns commonly fall into two groups: watch-time Drops and subscription-based Drops. A watch-time card advances only while your viewing meets the campaign’s eligibility rules. A subscription-based card has a different trigger set by the organizer. Read the card’s wording instead of assuming every reward uses the same number of minutes or the same activity.
Use Drops Inventory to see every campaign
Open Drops Inventory from Twitch’s Drops area. Inventory gives you an account-wide view of active campaigns and rewards that are ready to claim. It is the best place to check when you changed streams, closed chat or missed a pop-up.
What inventory tells you
- Which campaign and game or partner a reward belongs to.
- Your current progress on active rewards.
- Whether a requirement is complete and the reward is ready to claim.
- Whether a campaign or reward is approaching its deadline, including an EXPIRING SOON warning where Twitch provides one.
- Previously earned or claimed rewards that remain in the inventory record.
Claim a completed reward
- In Drops Inventory, locate the card marked ready to claim.
- Select Claim on that card.
- Repeat for each completed reward; completing one tier does not necessarily claim later tiers automatically.
- Keep the inventory page open long enough to confirm the status changes from ready to claimed or delivered.
Twitch says a claim notification appears when requirements are met. If you miss it, the reward can still be claimed from Drops Inventory during the available claim period. Do not treat the disappearance of a chat banner as proof that the reward was lost.
Link the correct game account before expecting delivery
Claiming on Twitch and receiving an item in the game are related but separate steps. Before claiming, open the campaign’s account-linking instructions and connect the required game account to the Twitch account earning the Drop. Check that you are linking the intended platform or player identity; an old or different account can receive the reward even when the Twitch claim succeeds.

Two fulfillment paths

Twitch’s viewer help describes a typical delivery window of 24–48 hours after a claim, while some rewards can take up to seven days. Those are documented time frames, not a guarantee for every campaign. The campaign owner’s integration controls the actual fulfillment process.
Deadlines, campaign clocks and inventory retention
Follow the deadline shown for your campaign
A campaign can stop accepting progress at its end time, and a completed reward can have a separate claim window. Use the date and time displayed on the campaign card or Drops Inventory as the controlling deadline for that specific Drop. Twitch’s help guidance describes a seven-day post-campaign claim period, while Twitch’s developer analytics documentation discusses viewers claiming Drops up to 14 days after campaign end in an analytics context. Because those references address different contexts, the displayed deadline for your campaign takes priority.
Know how campaign times are defined
Twitch’s developer guide says campaign times are entered in UTC. Convert the displayed start and end times to your local zone before planning a viewing session, especially when an event crosses midnight or daylight-saving changes. The same guide says time-based requirements configured in the campaign tool can range from 15 minutes to 15 hours; a particular campaign may use any value within that range rather than a standard one-hour requirement.

How long a reward remains visible
Twitch’s current developer documentation says earned or claimed rewards remain in Drops Inventory for six months. Inventory retention is not the same as an open claim period: a reward can remain listed as a record while the campaign’s deadline for claiming or redeeming it has already passed.

Work through these checks in order. Each one rules out a different eligibility or display problem.
1. The stream is not eligible
Confirm the Drops Enabled tag is visible and that the stream is in the game category named by the campaign. If either is missing, switch to a participating channel that satisfies both conditions. A channel can discuss the right game without being enrolled in that campaign.

2. You are signed out or using the wrong account
Refresh the page and verify the Twitch profile shown in the account menu. Progress belongs to the signed-in Twitch account, not automatically to every account on the device. If you changed accounts, return to Drops Inventory for the account that was watching and check its card.
3. You are checking only a banner
Open the chat Drops icon or the full Drops Inventory. A banner can disappear after a navigation change even though the campaign is still active. The inventory page provides the broader status and may show an actionable claim button that is no longer visible in chat.
4. The campaign uses a different requirement
Read the reward card again. Watch-time progress and subscription-based rewards do not advance from the same activity. A completed lower tier may also leave a later tier at zero until its own requirement begins.
5. The campaign has ended
Check the campaign’s displayed end time and any claim deadline. Once the campaign closes, additional viewing cannot add progress, even if the stream remains live. Claim any completed item before the shown deadline.
What to do when a claimed reward is missing in-game
- Return to Drops Inventory and confirm the reward is marked claimed rather than merely complete.
- Check that the Twitch account is linked to the exact game account, platform and player profile you are inspecting.
- Allow the documented delivery window: commonly 24–48 hours, with some rewards taking up to seven days.
- If the campaign issued a code, look for the code in the campaign’s claim details and redeem it on the specified partner site.
- After the applicable waiting period, contact the game publisher or campaign owner. Twitch’s developer documentation assigns fulfillment to the campaign owner’s game integration, so that owner is the party able to investigate an item that was claimed but not delivered.
A successful Twitch claim does not prove that a game account was linked correctly, and a linked account does not make every reward instant. Keep the campaign name, claim status and linked account details available when requesting support.
