To show two PDF pages side by side in Microsoft Edge, open the document in Edge’s desktop PDF reader, reveal the PDF toolbar if necessary, choose Page view, and select Two pages. The setting changes the on-screen arrangement only; it does not change the layout Edge uses when you print.
Edge’s built-in reader supports PDFs opened from your computer, from the web, and in embedded document viewers on Windows and macOS desktop. The two-page control is part of the normal PDF interface in current stable Edge. Microsoft lists Page view support in the Stable channel from Edge version 88.0.705.50.

How do I enable two-page layout for PDFs in Edge?
The control is inside Edge’s PDF viewer, not in the main browser Settings menu. Follow these steps:
- Open a PDF in Microsoft Edge. You can open a file stored on your computer or load one from a website.
- Click once inside the document to reveal the PDF toolbar if it is hidden.
- Locate Page view on the PDF toolbar and open its menu.
- Select Two pages. Edge will arrange adjacent pages as a facing-page spread.
- Scroll or move through the document to confirm that the pages remain in the two-page arrangement.
Microsoft describes this control as changing a document from a single-page view to two pages displayed side by side. It is a display choice in the PDF reader, so you can switch back without editing or converting the file.

Where is the Page view button in Edge’s PDF reader?
Page view appears on the PDF-specific toolbar that runs across the document window. Edge can hide that toolbar when you move the pointer away or when the window is narrow.
If you do not see the controls, click in the PDF first. If the toolbar offers a pin control, pin it so it stays visible while you work. Then look through the PDF controls for Page view, rather than searching the browser’s three-dot menu. The option belongs to the document viewer.
On a compact window, some controls may be grouped or moved into an overflow menu. Maximizing the Edge window gives the toolbar more room and makes the Page view control easier to identify. This is a practical display check; the documented workflow remains Page view followed by Two pages.
Which Edge versions and computers support two-page PDF viewing?
Edge’s built-in PDF reader handles local, online, and embedded PDFs on Windows and macOS desktop. Microsoft Learn’s feature table lists Page view, including the two-page arrangement, in the Stable channel from version 88.0.705.50.
That version number describes when the feature was listed for Stable Edge, not a requirement to install an old release. Current Edge builds normally include the control through the regular PDF viewer. If your browser is much older, update it before trying the historical flag procedure described below.

What does two-page view change, and what does it leave alone?
Two-page view changes how pages are arranged on your screen. It is useful when the relationship between facing pages matters, but it does not rewrite the PDF or change the print layout.
- Changes: the reader displays two adjacent pages side by side instead of one page at a time.
- Does not change: the document’s stored content or the layout selected in the print dialog.
- Still controlled separately: print orientation, scaling, and page range.
The Windows Club’s instructions specifically note that changing the on-screen PDF layout does not affect printing. Before printing, open Edge’s print dialog and check orientation, scaling, and the page range there. A two-page spread on screen is not a command to print two pages on one sheet.
Which PDF viewing mode should I choose?
The best mode depends on whether you need spread context or fast movement through a long file. These are the practical differences among the arrangements discussed for Edge’s PDF reader:
| Mode | What you see | Useful when |
|---|---|---|
| Single page | One page at a time | You want page-by-page concentration and the largest view of one page. |
| Two pages | Facing pages side by side | You need book-like spread context, such as checking how a two-page section reads together. |
| Continuous scrolling | A vertically scrolling sequence of pages | You need to move quickly through a long document rather than inspect a spread. |
Two-page view is most informative when the document’s meaning or navigation depends on neighboring pages. Single-page view can be easier when each page contains dense text or a form that needs close attention. Continuous scrolling favors rapid vertical navigation. You can change the arrangement as your task changes; selecting Two pages does not lock the PDF into that mode.

Why is Edge showing only one PDF page?
Usually, either the Page view menu has not been opened or the PDF toolbar is not currently visible. Work through these checks in order:
1. Reveal the PDF toolbar
Click inside the document. If Edge provides a pin control for the toolbar, use it. A hidden toolbar means the Page view command is hidden as well.
2. Look for the exact menu path
Open Page view and choose Two pages. Do not rely on a browser-window setting or a right-click menu; the control is part of the PDF reader.
3. Give the toolbar more room
Maximize the Edge window and check any overflow area on the PDF toolbar. A narrow window can make controls harder to see.
4. Update Edge
If Page view is absent entirely, install the latest Edge update available for your computer and reopen the PDF. The Stable feature entry dates to version 88.0.705.50, and current releases may present the control differently from early rollout builds.

5. Check for managed-browser restrictions
On a work or school computer, an administrator may control browser features or the PDF viewer. If the command remains missing after an update and a wider window, ask your administrator whether an Edge policy affects the PDF toolbar. This is a practical troubleshooting check, not a documented requirement for ordinary personal installations.
Should I use the edge://flags two-page setting?
The flag is legacy rollout guidance, not the normal way to enable the feature in current stable Edge. During the original rollout, third-party instructions used edge://flags/#edge-pdf-two-page-view.
If you are troubleshooting an old Edge installation and the flag still exists, the historical procedure was:

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minute- Enter
edge://flags/#edge-pdf-two-page-viewin Edge’s address bar. - Find Enable two-page view for PDF.
- Set it to Enabled.
- Relaunch Edge when prompted.
- Open a PDF and use Page View > Two-page.
The Windows Club published that procedure on January 1, 2021. OnMSFT reported the feature in Edge Canary around build 88.0.688.0 or later. Those dates explain why the flag appears in older tutorials; they do not prove that the flag remains in Edge in 2026. If Edge says the flag is unavailable, stop looking for it and use the current Page view workflow after updating the browser.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How can I get a readable two-page spread?
A two-page arrangement needs enough horizontal space for both pages. A wide display generally makes the spread easier to read in practice, but no particular monitor is required to enable the feature.

- Maximize the Edge window before deciding that the pages are too small.
- Use two-page mode when spread context matters; switch to single page when the text on each page needs closer inspection.
- Keep the PDF toolbar pinned only if you need frequent mode changes; otherwise, hiding it leaves more room for the document.
- When a long file is easier to scan vertically, use continuous scrolling instead of forcing every page into a spread.
These choices affect comfort and navigation, not the PDF’s contents. If a page looks crowded in a spread, changing the view mode is safer than assuming the file itself has been altered.
What should I check before printing a PDF viewed in two-page mode?
Open the print dialog separately and verify the settings that control the physical output:
- Orientation: choose portrait or landscape for the paper, independently of the on-screen spread.
- Scaling: confirm whether the printer should fit, shrink, or print at the selected scale.
- Page range: select the pages you actually want to print.
Edge’s two-page display is a viewing arrangement. The documented guidance says it does not carry over to print layout, so inspect the print preview and options rather than expecting the screen’s facing pages to become a two-up print job.
Quick checklist for enabling two pages
- Use Edge on a Windows or macOS desktop.
- Open the PDF in Edge’s built-in reader.
- Click the document if the PDF toolbar is hidden.
- Pin the toolbar if that control is available.
- Choose Page view > Two pages.
- If Page view is missing, maximize the window, update Edge, and check whether the browser is managed.
- Treat old
edge://flagsinstructions as historical troubleshooting only. - Check print orientation, scaling, and page range separately before printing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Edge display two pages from a PDF embedded in a webpage?
Yes. Edge’s desktop PDF reader handles embedded PDFs as well as files opened from local storage or a direct web address. Once the document is using Edge’s reader, the Page view menu is the place to choose the spread.
Do I need to install a separate PDF application for this layout?
No. The two-page arrangement is a built-in Edge PDF-reader feature on supported desktop installations. A separate application is optional, not a prerequisite for the Edge workflow.
What if the two-page spread is too small to read?
Maximize the browser window and compare the spread with single-page view. Two-page mode is intended for seeing neighboring pages together; single-page mode may be more comfortable for dense text or detailed forms.
Is the same Page view control confirmed for Edge on phones and tablets?
The documented support covers Edge’s desktop PDF reader on Windows and macOS. It does not establish that the desktop Page view control is present in Edge’s mobile apps.
