Guides describe a pool of 37 possible tasks, with ten selected for each player. Watch for a small pink Floyd notification and listen for a guitar cue to confirm that a challenge counted. Complete your assigned set, then defeat Floyd to unlock The Field stage.
How to trigger the Floyd fight
- Update Mortal Kombat 1. Gameranx says Floyd is available after installing the latest update, but does not identify a patch number. Warner Bros. Games’ support page does not document the encounter, so the exact version requirement is unconfirmed. Gameranx’s Floyd guide and the WB Games support index provide those respective details.
- Work through possible challenge tasks. The guides report 37 possible challenges, of which ten are assigned to each player. There is no universal sequence, so use a checklist and try tasks that fit your assigned set. Destructoid’s challenge list and Kamidogu’s checklist give examples.
- Confirm each task with its cue. Look for the small pink Floyd notification and listen for a guitar riff. Guides report that the cue can appear immediately or during or after a match. If you do not see or hear it, treat the task as unconfirmed rather than assuming it counted.
- Finish the ten challenges assigned to your profile. According to the guides, you do not have to complete all 37 possible tasks. When your assigned challenges are complete, Floyd appears for the encounter.
- Defeat Floyd. Beating him unlocks The Field stage. A PS5 community walkthrough also reports Kameo Scorpion and Kameo Sub-Zero color palettes; that additional reward detail is specific to the guide’s reported platform scope. Read the PS5 walkthrough.
Challenge examples: requirements vary
The following are examples from the reported challenge pool, not a fixed checklist every player must complete:

- Taunt four times in a match, win without jumping, or perform exactly 13 sweeps.
- Land the first hit against Raiden, perform exactly five uppercuts, make exactly 22 jumps, or land seven throws.
- Complete a 400-damage combo using Scorpion and Sub-Zero, or achieve a double flawless with Liu Kang.
Some tasks impose exact counts; doing more than the requested number may not satisfy the condition. Character- and Kameo-specific tasks also mean a general checklist is best used to identify possibilities, while the in-game cue is the practical confirmation that a particular task registered.
What the guides do—and do not—establish
The challenge count, per-player selection, cues, and rewards come from secondary and community guides, not an official encounter explanation. The official Warner Bros. Games support page describes Mortal Kombat 1 as the latest title in the franchise but does not explain how to find Floyd or identify the patch that added the encounter.

Gameranx also reports that Floyd may appear to offer a hint during ladder play, with a stated 2% chance every 100 ladder matches and a guaranteed appearance after 400. That is a secondary-guide claim separate from completing challenges; the available official support information does not verify it as a required step, so it should not be treated as part of the confirmed challenge route.
The PS5 GameFAQs walkthrough says some tasks can be completed in different modes and that the challenge set may change between attempts. Those mode and repeat-attempt details are community-guide claims, not official rules established by Warner Bros. Games.
