Equip the DJ Sona skin in your champion loadout before the match, then switch its music mode in game by typing /toggle in chat or pressing Ctrl+5. The three modes are Kinetic, Concussive, and Ethereal. They change the skin’s music, visuals, and sound effects—not Sona’s gameplay abilities. Teammates can choose whether to hear the music from the scoreboard, while you can lower Music Volume in Sound Options to mute it locally.
How do I equip DJ Sona?
DJ Sona is an ultimate League of Legends skin. Select it from Sona’s champion loadout before entering a match; the music-mode controls are used once you are in game. This is a digital skin feature, so there is no physical item or separate device to connect.

Riot Games Player Support listed the skin at 3,250 RP in its 2025 FAQ. The FAQ also lists three included icons, each with a unique summoner profile banner. That is a dated listed price, not a guarantee of the current price or availability in every region or store.
How do I switch DJ Sona’s music mode in a match?
Use either of Riot’s documented controls: type /toggle in chat or press Ctrl+5. Each use cycles through DJ Sona’s three forms; the control changes the presentation mode rather than selecting a different gameplay ability.
- Enter a match with DJ Sona equipped.
- Press
Ctrl+5, or open chat and enter/toggle. - Use the same control again to cycle to another form.
If the shortcut does not work for you, try the chat command. These are the two controls documented by Riot Games Player Support.

What are DJ Sona’s three modes?
Each form has its own musical character and a distinct set of visual and sound effects. Riot describes the experience as evolving dynamically as the game progresses.

Can teammates hear DJ Sona’s music, and how can they mute it?
Sona’s teammates can opt in to hearing the music using the toggle next to her champion portrait on the scoreboard. The control is reversible, so a teammate can use it to turn the music on or off. Riot’s FAQ specifies that this option is for teammates, not enemies.
Each player can manage playback on their own client. To turn off DJ Sona’s music locally, open Sound Options and lower Music Volume. This is separate from the scoreboard toggle: the scoreboard control lets a teammate choose whether to hear Sona’s music, while Music Volume controls music playback for that client.

Can I listen to DJ Sona’s music outside a match?
Riot says three radio-edit versions of DJ Sona’s music are available to download for free. They represent the three forms, but downloading a radio edit is separate from changing DJ Sona’s in-game mode.

Do DJ Sona’s radio edits unlock or change the skin in game?
No. Riot describes the radio edits as downloadable representations of the three forms; they are separate from switching the skin’s mode during a match.

Do the three included DJ Sona icons have different gameplay effects?
