To evolve Galarian Yamask into Runerigus in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, have it take at least 49 HP of damage without fainting. Keep it in your party, stand beneath the bridge between Wild Zones 11 and 17, then open the menu to trigger the evolution.
Steps to evolve Galarian Yamask
- Check the form. This method is for Galarian Yamask, which evolves into Runerigus—not the other Yamask form.
- Take 49 HP of damage or more while surviving. Yamask must not faint; damage taken after it is knocked out does not count toward the stated condition.
- Keep Yamask in your party and go beneath the bridge between Wild Zone 11 and Wild Zone 17.
- Open the menu while standing beneath the bridge. Yamask should be ready to evolve into Runerigus. Nintendo Life’s evolution guide gives these steps, and Serebii’s evolution reference lists the damage and location conditions.
How to find Galarian Yamask
Nintendo Life reports that Galarian Yamask can appear in a random 3-star Hyperspace. If none of the portals show it, the guide suggests resting on a bench until daytime or nightfall to refresh the portals. This encounter location is a guide report; an official Pokémon encounter table confirming the spawn was not available in the sources consulted.

Do you need to be above level 30?
No level requirement is established. The evolution guide recommends using a Yamask above level 30 as practical advice, since a higher-HP Pokémon may be better able to take the required damage and survive. The stated evolution conditions are the damage threshold, the bridge location, having Yamask in the party, and opening the menu.
When can you access the Mega Dimension content?
The Galarian Yamask evolution method is covered in the Mega Dimension DLC guide. Pokémon’s official Mega Dimension announcement says its story requires completing the main story first.
