One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchTreat every regular extraction in ARC Raiders as a public event: scout the approach, heal, preserve stamina, manage nearby ARC, and keep a fallback exit in view before activating the controls. A Raider Hatch is quieter and faster when you have a key, but it is not free or automatically safe. Proximity chat and emotes may create a temporary truce with another Raider, yet cooperation is voluntary and betrayal is always possible.
Why a regular extraction is never private
Using a normal extraction point announces an opportunity to everyone close enough to hear or observe it. Embark Studios says its main extraction points draw substantial attention from both ARC machines and other players. Epic’s extraction guide adds that interacting with the regular controls produces a loud blaring signal that can attract human and machine enemies. The countdown therefore changes the area from a quiet route into a predictable objective.

Plan around that announcement instead of trying to hide it. You cannot make a regular terminal silent, and no timing trick guarantees that another Raider will ignore the signal. Your advantage comes from arriving prepared, choosing where opponents would have to stand to watch the point, and retaining enough resources to cancel the attempt and leave.

Embark explains that extraction options steadily diminish over time. Carrying one more valuable item can therefore reduce the number of routes left when you finally turn toward safety. The safest decision is often to leave with a lighter bag while several exits remain, rather than maximize your load and accept a late, crowded run.

Regular point or Raider Hatch?
The choice is a trade-off between access and exposure. A regular point does not require a special item, while a Raider Hatch consumes a key; the hatch repays that cost with a quieter, quicker interaction in a location that generally sees less foot traffic.
| Factor | Regular extraction point | Raider Hatch |
|---|---|---|
| Access requirement | No direct cost to use, according to Embark Studios. | Requires a Hatch Key obtained through crafting, randomized loot, or vendor Shani. |
| Exposure | Control interaction makes a loud signal that can attract Raiders and ARC. | Described by Embark as relatively quiet and placed in lower-foot-traffic areas. |
| Speed | Requires an exposed interaction and countdown. | Characterized by Embark as quick. |
| Availability | Usable exits steadily diminish as the session continues. | Depends on having a key and a usable hatch marker. |
| Squad value | Uses the normal public extraction flow. | One hatch can provide a three-for-one squad extraction, according to Embark. |
Use a hatch when the key’s value is justified by the danger of a public terminal: a valuable load, a late-session map with few exits, or a route where a regular point is already attracting fire. Do not spend the key automatically. If the hatch approach crosses an exposed street, passes an ARC patrol, or leads into a likely ambush, the quieter destination may still be the worse route.
The extraction decision you should make before you are overloaded
Read the map while you still have options
Open the map early, not after your inventory is full and your armor is damaged. Mark one regular extraction point and at least one fallback that you can reach without crossing the same obvious lane. The map communicates risk: high-value areas attract more Raiders, and late-session exits become less plentiful. Knowing two destinations lets you leave a contested terminal without improvising in the open.
Recheck the plan after major fights, a large loot pickup, or a change in the session’s remaining time. A route that was sensible with a half-empty bag may be too risky once you are carrying the item you came for. Set a personal threshold: when the danger of another engagement exceeds the value of the next room, begin moving toward an exit.
Reserve the resources that make retreat possible
Heal before entering the extraction zone. Keep enough stamina to break line of sight, reach cover, or change direction if a watcher appears. Epic explains that sprinting drains stamina, while standing, walking, or crouching restores it. Arriving exhausted removes your most dependable escape option at exactly the moment the terminal may draw attention.
Do not spend your last defensive consumable on a minor skirmish immediately before extraction. A heal, smoke, explosive, or other escape tool has more value during the countdown than it does while clearing an unimportant machine away from the route. The exact item behavior can change with patches, so treat any specialized tactic as situational rather than guaranteed.
A step-by-step safe-extraction sequence
1. Approach from cover and stop short of the terminal
Do not run directly onto the controls. Stop at a covered position from which you can see the approach, the terminal, and at least one withdrawal lane. This pause is for information: identify fresh movement, open doors, dropped loot, shell casings, active ARC, and signs that another player has already been waiting.

Look at the likely sightlines rather than only the terminal itself. A camper may watch the final few metres, a roofline, a doorway, or the path most players use to reach the point. If you cannot check those angles, you do not yet know whether the extraction is safe enough to start.
2. Listen before you interact
Gunfire and footsteps can reveal a fight that the map does not show. PlayStation’s ARC Raiders guidance stresses that “the noise of battle carries.” Use headphones if available, keep game audio intelligible, and pause before touching the controls. A distant burst may mean another Raider is occupied; it may also mean the area is about to become crowded as someone rotates from the fight.
Sound is also a timer. If you hear movement closing on your position, do not begin a countdown merely because the terminal is visible. Wait in cover, reposition, or use the fallback. Starting the loud interaction while an unknown player is already nearby gives that player the information and initiative.
3. Check ARC patrols and avoid creating a second alarm
Epic notes that regular extraction points are commonly patrolled by ARC drones and robots. A spotted player can alert additional machines, turning a one-on-one threat into a chain of aggro. Clear a nearby patrol when doing so is quiet and controlled, or route around it if the fight would advertise your position.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Starting the countdown while ARC is already alerted forces you to divide attention between the terminal and incoming machines. If the patrol is moving toward the point, let it pass, eliminate it from cover, or rotate to the alternate exit. The goal is not to kill every machine on the map; it is to prevent an active alarm from overlapping the most exposed part of the extraction.
4. Commit only when the retreat remains possible
Once the approach is quiet, activate the regular controls and stand where the terminal does not trap you against a wall or dead end. Keep your camera and movement oriented toward the most dangerous entry route. Preserve stamina during the countdown rather than sprinting in circles. If a new threat appears, cancel the attempt and move; losing a few seconds is preferable to losing your kit.
Because the signal can attract players after activation, assume that a previously empty approach may not stay empty. Your fallback should be reachable without crossing the terminal again. If the point becomes loud, contested, or covered by ARC, abandon the countdown and rotate instead of trying to win a fair fight in an unfavorable location.

5. Use a Raider Hatch when its advantages outweigh the key
Hatches are the strongest low-exposure option when you possess a key and the route is genuinely clear. Keys can come from crafting, randomized loot, or vendor Shani, so each use carries an opportunity cost. Embark describes hatches as relatively quiet and quick and notes that they can sit in lower-foot-traffic areas.
Check the final approach just as carefully as you would for a public point. A quiet hatch does not prevent an opponent from holding the exit, and the key does not guarantee that ARC will be absent. For a squad, Embark says one hatch can provide a three-for-one extraction, which can make the key especially valuable when all three players have worthwhile loot.
What to do when you suspect an extract camper
Change the geometry instead of challenging the obvious angle
If the normal route feels watched, do not walk into the sightline to confirm it. Approach from an unexpected direction, use concealment, and keep a route back to hard cover. A camper is strongest when you follow the path they have prepared; changing the angle forces them to reveal whether they are actually present.
Distractions can help you test a position. The ArcRaidersAI guide suggests smoke or explosive tools to make campers move or expose themselves. Treat that as secondary tactical advice rather than a guaranteed recipe: item effects and counterplay can change after updates, and throwing a tool may announce your own location. Use a distraction only when you can retreat if the response is immediate.
Separate information gathering from the final commitment
Peek from cover, listen, and observe how ARC reacts before you start the terminal. If a machine suddenly turns, a door opens, or shots arrive from a new angle, you have learned something without being locked into a countdown. The extraction interaction should be the last step after the area has passed your checks, not the method you use to discover whether it is occupied.

How to handle another Raider at the extraction
Signal peaceful intent without surrendering control
Epic says proximity chat and emotes can communicate that you do not want a fight. Its guide notes that pressing the “Push-to-Talk (Proximity Chat)” button lets you ask nearby players whether they want to assist. A short, clear message such as “I’m extracting, no fight” can reduce an unnecessary duel, especially when ARC is threatening both players.
Keep your weapon discipline and cover while communicating. Do not stand in the open, walk directly toward the other Raider, or expose your back because they answered politely. Communication is a tool for buying information and time, not a protective system.

Understand the temporary-truce limits
Players sometimes cooperate against ARC or share an extraction countdown, but cooperation is voluntary. Epic explicitly warns that another Raider can still betray you. There is no source-established probability that a truce will hold, no universal safe distance, and no guaranteed timing window that prevents a surprise attack.
If both players agree to coexist, keep separate cover positions, avoid crowding the same doorway, and leave as soon as your own extraction completes. The arrangement should reduce exposure to ARC and crossfire; it should never require you to hand over loot, discard your escape route, or remain after your risk threshold has been exceeded.
Sound, stamina, and visibility: the three practical advantages
Sound
Battle noise, sprinting, door interactions, and the regular extraction signal all provide information. Headphones are optional, but intelligible game audio improves your ability to distinguish an approaching player from a distant ARC patrol. If you cannot hear reliably, compensate by using more cover, checking angles more often, and leaving earlier rather than relying on a last-second reaction.
Stamina
Sprinting is useful for crossing a dangerous gap but costly if you spend the entire approach running. Walk, crouch, or stand while scouting so stamina can recover, then reserve the recovered bar for the moment you must break line of sight. Being caught in the open with no stamina removes the simplest response to a surprise attack.
Visibility
Cover should conceal your body while preserving a view of the terminal and its approaches. Avoid silhouettes against bright backgrounds, predictable pauses at corners, and repeated peeks from the same position. If the only available cover leaves you unable to see a likely entry lane, move to a better observation point before committing.

ARC is already aggroed
Break contact or clear the immediate patrol before starting. A machine alert can expose you to additional robots and make it impossible to watch human sightlines during the countdown.
You have a Hatch Key and a valuable load
Compare the hatch route with the public point. Prefer the hatch when its approach is quieter, quicker, and less exposed; save the key when the hatch itself is watched or the public route is unusually calm and well covered.
Another Raider asks to cooperate
Answer through proximity chat or an emote if you want to avoid a fight, but retain cover, stamina, and an independent exit plan. Leave the moment the arrangement stops reducing risk.

Mistakes that turn a good route into a bad extract
- Waiting until the bag is full: late extraction means fewer available exits and more pressure to accept a contested point. Start the return while your options are still broad.
- Running straight to the marker: the final approach is where a watcher gets the easiest shot. Scout from cover and inspect likely sightlines first.
- Spending all stamina on arrival: an empty bar prevents a retreat when the terminal signal attracts attention. Walk or crouch while observing and sprint only across necessary gaps.
- Fighting every ARC patrol: unnecessary combat creates sound and can trigger additional robots. Avoid or isolate patrols when a clean route is available.
- Starting the countdown while listening to a fight: nearby combat can produce a third-party attack. Let the situation resolve or move to the fallback.
- Trusting a truce as a guarantee: proximity chat and emotes can reduce hostility but cannot enforce cooperation. Keep cover and an escape lane.
- Using a Hatch Key automatically: the key has value, and a hatch can still be watched. Spend it when lower exposure materially improves the run.
- Repeating the obvious path after spotting a camper: change the approach angle, use concealment, or create a controlled distraction rather than offering the same sightline again.
What the published figures do—and do not—tell you
Embark’s July 29, 2025 developer discussion reported that high-level players used Raider Hatches 40% of the time in its TT2 data, a rate the studio said was higher than intended. That figure describes the cited player sample and period; it is not a promise that a hatch will be available or safe in your session.
The PlayStation listing states that the PS5 version supports up to 21 online players simultaneously. More possible players means more potential traffic around a loud public extraction, but the listing does not establish how many players will be near your particular point or how often an extract is camped.
Limits of any “safe” extraction plan
No cited source provides a guaranteed safe route, a universal anti-camping timing window, or a reliable probability that another Raider will honor a truce. ARC Raiders is intentionally PvPvE: machines, human opponents, sound, and shrinking extraction availability interact differently from one session to the next. The practical objective is risk reduction—early route selection, disciplined scouting, controlled noise, preserved stamina, and a willingness to leave—not certainty.
