Check the NFL’s official injury report, find the cornerback by name, and confirm the team and position. Read the injury, practice status, and game status as separate fields; then check for a newer official update before relying on what you find. Practice participation alone does not determine whether a player will play.
Find the cornerback on the NFL injury report
- Open the NFL official injury report.
- Locate the player and verify both the team and the listed position. The position should be CB; checking these details helps avoid confusing players with similar names or entries for another team.
- Read the injury, practice-status, and game-status fields individually. The report lists these separately, and its entries can show different combinations of information.
- Check the report again for a newer entry. If the team has posted a more recent official update, use that update rather than treating an older report as current.
A team’s official site or public-relations update is a useful second place to check if the league report has not refreshed or the team has posted newer information. Posting times and current-season filing deadlines are not established here, so do not assume a particular update schedule.
What the report fields mean
Injury
This field identifies the body area or condition listed on the report. Use the wording shown; do not infer a diagnosis, severity, or recovery timetable that the official entry does not provide.
Practice status
The report shows whether the player was listed as not participating, limited, or full. The NFL’s 2016 Injury Report Policy defines limited participation as taking less than 100% of a player’s normal repetitions and full participation as taking 100%. Those definitions come from a dated policy document; they should not be treated as proof of every current reporting procedure.

Game status
Game status is a separate field from practice participation. A player’s practice entry is not, by itself, a final decision about playing; check the game-status designation when one is supplied and look for a later official update.
Reason for an absence
Do not assume an absence is injury-related. NFL report entries can identify an absence as “Not injury related,” including for rest or personal matters. The 2016 policy also discusses distinguishing a rest-related practice entry from an injury designation.

How to compare updates or players
For two cornerbacks, or for successive reports about one player, compare the same details each time:
- Report date or time, if displayed.
- Listed injury or stated reason for the entry.
- Practice participation.
- Game-status designation, if supplied.
- Whether a newer official team or league update has superseded the entry.
This makes changes easier to spot without turning a missed or limited practice into a prediction about game availability.

What the report can—and cannot—tell you
The live NFL page is the strongest source for the status it displays when you check it, but it can change. The NFL’s 2016 Injury Report Policy says the practice report is expected to provide clubs and the public an accurate description of a player’s injury status and practice participation. That statement describes the policy document; it does not establish current 2026 filing deadlines or every present-day procedure.
When sharing a status, include when you checked it and attribute the information to the NFL report or the team’s official update. Avoid adding an unsupported diagnosis, recovery estimate, or assurance that the cornerback will or will not play.
