To finish Alchemist Zylotol’s Alchemist’s Assistant Gather Wish, collect three Plasmium samples from buds in the Wormways and bring them back to his lab. Equip the temporary Needle Phial at the lab bench and fully charge it before striking each bud; a regular Needle hit will not harvest a sample. The first bud is below the lab. Directions to the second and third differ between guides, so the route below identifies which guide it follows.
Start Alchemist’s Assistant and prepare the Needle Phial
Find Alchemist Zylotol’s lab in the upper-left part of the Wormways and accept his Gather Wish. Rest at the bench in the lab, then equip the temporary Needle Phial in a tool slot. Hold the Tool input to charge it, then release the attack into a Plasmium bud. The Hollow Knight Wiki describes extraction as a fully charged stab; an ordinary Needle strike is not enough. Bud 1: below Zylotol’s lab
- Leave the lab to the right and drop to the level below.
- Turn left and use Wall Climb to cross the spike pit to a platform.
- Continue left and drop down. Look for a blue glow in an alcove on the right.
- Approach the bud, fully charge the Needle Phial, and release the attack to collect the sample.

Buds 2 and 3: guides disagree on the route
The detailed directions below follow the sequential route in Silksong Wiki. PCGamesN describes the second and third locations differently: it puts bud two in a dark western section behind a false wall and bud three in an eastern mossy cave. Those descriptions do not align cleanly with Silksong Wiki’s sequence and landmarks, so do not treat the two guides as a single confirmed route. The discrepancy is unresolved in the available guides.

Bud 2: follow Silksong Wiki’s route through the moss-covered tunnel
From the first bud, go left and descend through the platforms, navigating the drops and spike hazards. Continue until you reach a moss-covered tunnel; Silksong Wiki places the second bud at the tunnel’s end. Charge the Needle Phial before striking it. See Silksong Wiki: Plasmium.
Bud 3: return toward the first falling sandworm
From bud two, climb back up toward the first falling sandworm. Cross left over a spike gap, then drop into an alcove and break the stone wall to reach the third bud. Fully charge the Needle Phial and release the attack into the bud to take the final sample. This is the third-bud route given by Silksong Wiki; PCGamesN’s location description differs.
