Where do you find stinkbugs in Grounded 2?
For recognizable early-game landmarks, PC Gamer’s 2025 guide points to several stinkbug areas in the starting region:
- Garbage Can: Look near the bin in the Entrance region, including southeast of it and south of a nearby large tree.
- Snackbar: Check the bricks east of the Snackbar and the surrounding grass.
- Picnic Table: Search by the rope fence south of the table, especially the grass patch with pink flowers and the brick path southeast of it.
The guide estimates roughly ten stinkbugs around the starting area; treat that as an approximate count, not a guaranteed number in every save or version. PC Gamer’s location guide
The Grounded Wiki lists the Central Grasslands and Flower Bed as stinkbug environments. Its database names additional spawn points: near the eastern Flower Bed–Oak Hill boundary, by the Hedge’s northern outskirts, below the Picnic Table’s right seat, around Rake Rock Point, at the Field Station near Trowel Gulch, in the upper Flower Bed, and in the Dry Grasslands near the Red Anthill. How do you defeat stinkbugs in Grounded 2?
Plan around the gas before engaging. A Gas Mask or Gastro Goo is the direct protection identified by the Grounded Wiki. If you lack either, use a ranged weapon such as a bow or staff so you can attack without staying close, and bring strong healing; PC Gamer specifically suggests a Green Machine smoothie as a fallback. Healing can help you recover, but it does not prevent gas exposure.
Use the right damage type
The Grounded Wiki’s Grounded 2 entry reports Fresh and Stabbing as weaknesses and Generic damage as resisted. If you have a suitable weapon, favor Fresh or Stabbing damage over Generic damage. The exact modifiers are database-reported and may be affected by balance updates.

Fight around its attacks
The Wiki describes three moves: a bite, a leap that leaves gas where the stinkbug lands, and a close-range gas release. It says the bite and leap can be blocked, but blocking the leap does not remove the gas it creates. Keep space after the landing, attack between moves, and avoid lingering in gas. Try to separate one stinkbug from others before committing; both cited sources describe relatively localized encounters, but that is not an unconditional guarantee that enemies will never move or group together.

The Grounded Wiki lists Stinkbug Parts (2–5) and Stinkbug Gas Sacks (0–2) as standard drops; those quantities are source-reported ranges and may change with patches. PC Gamer connects Stinkbug Parts to crafting a Gas Mask and Gas Sacks to Gastro Goo. That makes an early kill potentially useful for preparing for later gas-heavy encounters, though the cited guides do not establish that every kill yields a gas sack or that recipes are unchanged in the latest build.
