In StarRupture, cave entrances are covered by vines that reportedly burn away after a Rupture. Find an entrance while exploring, watch the in-game cycle, then approach when the opening is exposed. The window is temporary, so plan to enter and leave promptly rather than relying on an exact timer.

This guide is for StarRupture, the PC Early Access game developed and published by Creepy Jar. Steam lists its release date as January 6, 2026: Steam: StarRupture.

How to Find the Underground Caves

Explore the terrain and look for cave entrances covered by vines. A community cave reference reports that an icon appears when you are close, but map markers and scanner behavior can change between builds; use what the current game shows rather than depending on a particular marker or tool.

Once you have found an entrance, remember its location and return after a Rupture. The reported access mechanic is that the event burns back the vines temporarily, exposing the way in. The available reference describes the opening as lasting a few minutes, but that timing is not confirmed by an official source and may vary by build. Watch the cycle in-game and be ready to move when the vines clear.

How to Enter the Underground Cave

  1. Wait for the opening. Approach the entrance after the Rupture has burned away its covering vines.
  2. Light your way if needed. A user guide reports that caves are dark, so take or use an available in-game light source.
  3. Descend carefully. The same guide describes climbing down vines or using a boost to manage the drop. Treat these as reported, version-sensitive methods and watch your footing in the current build.
  4. Gather what you need and keep track of the exit. Glowcaps and Quartz Ore are reported cave resources. Exact yields, uses, and crafting recipes are not established here, so check their current in-game descriptions.

How to Exit the Cave

Plan to leave while the entrance remains open. The cave reference reports that players can climb back out while the vines are burned away; because the opening is temporary, do not assume it will stay accessible while you explore. A user guide also mentions damaging a vine growth as a fallback, but that escape method is not officially confirmed and may not work in the current build.

What Is Confirmed—and What May Change

The broad mechanic—Rupture-linked vine removal—is reported by a cave reference and a community guide. The community guide is user-generated and Steam currently marks it removed. Neither source establishes authoritative details for exact opening duration, cave locations or counts, resource amounts, crafting recipes, or alternate escape methods. Treat those specifics as provisional and follow the current game build.
