The most reliable way to get Blood, Azure, and Storm Petals in Hytale is to salvage their matching plants at a Salvager’s Workbench. You can also search for wild plants using the biome leads below, but those locations come from an older guide and are not fixed coordinates. For potion crafting, check the recipe in your current Alchemist’s Workbench: Update 4 reworked potion requirements.

How to get Blood, Azure, and Storm Petals

At the Salvager’s Workbench, salvage a Blood, Storm, or Azure plant to produce its corresponding petals. This is the current processing route confirmed in Hytale Update 4 patch notes (March 2026). The notes establish the matching plant-to-petal result, but do not state a yield per plant.

You can also look for the plants in the wild. A guide published by 17173 on January 25, 2026 lists the following source plants and broad search areas; treat these as leads rather than guaranteed spawn locations. The guide’s advice to strike plants for petals instead of using the interaction prompt is not confirmed as a current mechanic by the later official notes.

Petal Guide-listed plants Reported search areas
Blood Bloodcap Mushroom, Blood Leaf, Blood Rose Bloodcap Mushrooms: red forests in Emerald Grove. Blood Leaves: deep green forests in Emerald Grove, with reported appearances in Whisperfrost Frontiers and Howling Sands. Blood Roses: Frostmarch Tundra between Emerald Grove and Whisperfrost Frontiers.
Azure Azure Kelp, Azurecap Mushroom, Azure Fern Azure Kelp: water in blue Azure Forests. Azurecap Mushrooms: green or red forests in Emerald Grove. Azure Ferns: water in Howling Sands.
Storm Storm Sapling, Storm Thistle, Stormcap Mushroom Storm Saplings: higher elevations in Howling Sands. Storm Thistles: near the Emerald Grove–Howling Sands boundary. Stormcap Mushrooms: in or around Howling Sands.

The locations and plant names in the table are reported by the 17173 guide, which cautions that locations can vary. It does not provide fixed coordinates or establish which petal type is fastest to gather.

How to grow the plants

Update 4 says seeds for these crops are crafted at the Alchemist’s Workbench and that growing Blood, Storm, and Azure crops requires Crystal Fertilizer. It also says Blood Leaf, Storm Sapling, and Azure Kelp have unique growth requirements, but the patch notes do not specify those conditions. Check the plant’s current in-game information rather than assuming all three grow alike.

In Update 5 (May 2026), Hytale removed the Voidheart requirement from the Alchemist’s Workbench recipes for the Blood Leaf Seed Bag, Storm Sapling Seed Bag, and Azure Kelp Seed Bag. This change applies to those seed-bag recipes; it does not mean the crops no longer need Crystal Fertilizer.

What are the petals used for?

The 17173 guide associates Blood Petals with health potions, Azure Petals with energy potions, and Storm Petals with stamina potions. However, its specific ingredient lists should not be treated as current recipes: Update 4 says the crafting requirements for Health, Stamina, and Energy potions were reworked, and does not publish the replacement ingredient lists.

Open the Alchemist’s Workbench in your current game version to confirm the ingredients and yield before collecting materials. The older guide lists batches of three Small Health Potions using Blood Petals, three Small Energy Potions using an Azure Petal, and three Small Stamina Potions using Storm Petals, but those quantities and other ingredients are unverified after the rework.

Finding a biome in Update 5

Update 5 added the /locate command to find or teleport to biomes, zones, regions, and prefabs. If the command is available in your version and settings, use it to help locate a relevant area; it does not establish the precise spawn point of an individual plant.
