In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, Gold Veins were found in the Lawless area around Crime City, Outlaw Oasis, Shiny Shafts, and Lonewolf Lair. Try the mountain approach to Crime City first: a contemporaneous guide reported that veins could cluster there. Strike an actual Gold Vein with your Pickaxe to mine it for Bars and gain Gold Rush. This is historical guidance; Epic said the season ended May 2, 2025, Eastern Time.
How to mine Gold Veins
- Head to the Lawless region of the Chapter 6 Season 2 map and search around the four named locations below.
- At Crime City, check the base of the mountain on the approach to the city first. A March 2025 guide reported nearby veins could cluster there.
- Look for an interactive Gold Vein, not simply gold-colored terrain. Test the vein with your Pickaxe; surrounding golden-looking areas may not be mineable.
- Strike the Gold Vein with your Pickaxe to excavate it. Epic said mining a vein grants Bars and can give you Gold Rush.
Where to look for Gold Veins
- Crime City: Check the mountain approach first, where the third-party guide reported nearby clusters.
- Outlaw Oasis
- Shiny Shafts
- Lonewolf Lair
The named locations are broad search areas, not exact coordinates or guaranteed spawns. Epic did not publish a spawn-by-spawn map in the cited material, and the guide does not establish that a vein will appear in every match. If the Crime City approach turns up nothing, broaden the search to the other Lawless locations.
What mining a vein gives you
Epic Games’ Chapter 6 Season 2 LAWLESS announcement says: “You can also gain Gold Rush by mining Gold Veins, which can be excavated with your Pickaxe for Bars.” Epic described Gold Rush as increasing movement speed, Pickaxe swing speed, and Pickaxe damage against structures. During that season, gold-infused water was another way to obtain the effect.
Is this route still available?
No current-map availability is established for these Gold Veins. Epic said the Chapter 6 Season 2 Battle Pass would be available until May 2, 2025, Eastern Time, so these POI instructions should be treated as season-specific rather than directions for Fortnite’s live map.

Gold Bars and match resets
During LAWLESS, Epic described Gold Bars and Dill Bits as currencies spent at three Black Markets; Dill Bits did not carry across matches. Epic Support’s current guidance says Gold Bars reset at the end of a match and points to Chapter Seven v39.00 for recent changes. These currency rules are separate from whether the old Gold Vein feature is available now.
