In a solo Egg Festival hunt, collect at least 9 eggs in 50 seconds to beat Abigail. Egg placements change between odd- and even-numbered in-game years, so use the map for the year you are playing rather than following one route every time.

When and how to start the Egg Hunt

The Egg Festival takes place in Pelican Town Square on Spring 13. Enter town between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., then speak to Mayor Lewis when you are ready to begin the hunt. Finish shopping and socializing first: the festival ends after the hunt, and completing it or leaving town returns you to the farm at 10 p.m. Stardew Valley Wiki: Egg Festival

How many eggs do you need to win?

The hunt lasts 50 seconds. In solo play, collect 9 eggs to win. In multiplayer, the required count depends on the number of players:

Players Eggs needed
Solo 9
2 6
3 5
4 or more 4

In multiplayer, the prize goes to qualifying player or players with the highest egg count; players who tie for the highest count share the win. Stardew Valley Wiki: Egg Festival

Choose the map for your in-game year

Egg placements vary by year type. Check whether the current in-game year is odd or even, then use the corresponding map linked from the Egg Festival page. The wiki provides separate all-egg maps for odd and even years, plus an optimized route for odd years.

  • Odd-numbered year: Use the “All Egg Locations (Odd years)” map or the linked “An optimized route to collect 18 eggs (Odd years).”
  • Even-numbered year: Use the “All Egg Locations (Even years)” map; do not assume the odd-year route applies.

The route and map links are on the wiki page. Because the map contents are not reproduced here, follow the appropriate linked visual rather than relying on a tile-by-tile route description.

Plan a short route before speaking to Lewis

With only 50 seconds, use the matching map to plan a compact path through nearby eggs. Prioritize eggs you can reach without a long detour, and in solo play stop collecting once you have secured 9. The objective is to beat the threshold, not to collect every egg shown on the map.

  1. Check the in-game year and open the corresponding odd- or even-year map.
  2. Identify a short path that passes through eggs close together.
  3. Complete any festival shopping or conversations, then speak to Mayor Lewis to start.
  4. Follow your planned path and collect at least the required number before the 50-second timer expires.

What do you get for winning?

Your first Egg Hunt win awards the Straw Hat. Subsequent wins award a Prize Ticket; the wiki’s version history associates this repeat-win reward change with version 1.6. Stardew Valley Wiki: Egg Festival
