If you can sign in to Epic Games, open your account settings and check the masked email address. If you can’t sign in, sign out and use Epic’s “Search for your account email” flow with your Epic display name, account ID, or a linked account’s display name. If the lookup doesn’t help or you can’t access the associated inbox, start account recovery or contact Epic Player Support.
Find your email while signed in
- Open your Epic Games account settings.
- Look for the Email address field. Epic shows the address in masked form, revealing some characters and the email domain rather than the full address.
You can check the same settings if you sign in through a console or social account linked to your Epic account. Epic uses the account email for contact, notifications, receipts, and account recovery.

Look up the email if you can’t sign in
- Sign out of all Epic Games accounts. Epic’s email-search flow requires you to be signed out.
- Open Epic’s “Search for your account email” flow.
- Enter one of the requested identifiers: your Epic display name, Epic account ID, or the display name for a linked account, such as a console or social account.
- If Epic finds a match, it sends a message to the email address associated with that account. You’ll need access to that inbox to read it.
Check other clues
- Saved credentials: Look in your browser’s saved passwords for an Epic Games login. A saved username or email may identify the address you used.
- Linked sign-in: Try signing in with a console or social account already linked to your Epic account.
- Addresses you may have used: If you remember possible email addresses, follow Epic’s official sign-in recovery prompts to check whether one matches an account. Avoid repeated guesses outside the recovery flow.
Recover the account if the lookup fails
On Epic’s sign-in page, choose Trouble signing in? and follow the account-recovery prompts. If Epic finds the account but you can’t access its email or authentication methods, choose the Lost access option and provide the information requested. Epic may need additional information to try to locate and recover the account.
Epic does not simply disclose the full email address for security reasons. If the self-service lookup and recovery process do not resolve the problem, contact Epic Player Support. Epic’s recovery-status guidance says it will notify you of an outcome within 48 hours of receiving a recovery request, or tell you if it needs more time to investigate. That is a status-update timeframe, not a guarantee that every account will be recovered within 48 hours.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
