To find a Satisfactory Session ID, join the game from the main menu as a multiplayer session, press Esc, choose Manage Session, open Session Settings, and select Show. The revealed value is the multiplayer join identifier you can copy or type for friends. A single-player session does not have a multiplayer Session ID.

Quick path to the Session ID
- Start or join your Satisfactory world from the main menu as a multiplayer session.
- Once you are in the session, press Esc to open the pause menu.
- Select Manage Session.
- Open Session Settings.
- Find Session ID, select Show, then copy the revealed value to the clipboard or type it out for the people you want to invite.
The ID is displayed inside the running multiplayer session. Looking through the main-menu save list, renaming a save, or opening a local SaveGames folder will not reveal the same value.

Why you might not see a Session ID
Single-player worlds do not provide one
A single-player session does not show a multiplayer Session ID. If you loaded the world in single-player mode, the absence of the setting is expected rather than a missing-file problem. Return to the main menu and connect to the world using a multiplayer session before checking Manage Session.
Session type can affect the available multiplayer controls
Guides describing the game’s connection options list four session types: Single Player, IP, Steam, and Epic. One of those is explicitly single-player. The same guide says that two of the four types do not have a multiplayer Session ID, but its published summary does not identify which two. Do not assume that selecting a particular network option guarantees an ID; enter the session and check the current menu instead.

The introduction may need to be completed first
Manage Session may not appear until you have passed the introduction screen in that same main-menu session. If the option is missing immediately after starting the game, progress beyond the introduction, return to the world, and check the pause menu again. This is a reported menu prerequisite, not a requirement documented for every current build.
What to do when the menu labels differ
The familiar route is Esc > Manage Session > Session Settings > Show. The menu labels have been reported in guides that are several months old; one such guide was approximately 307 days old at the time of the October 14, 2026 information check. Game updates can move or rename controls, so use the current wording in your build as the authority.

If you cannot find the exact text, look for the pause-menu entry that manages the active session, then open its settings. You are looking for a concealed value with a Show control, not for the world’s display name or a save-file name. Avoid changing unrelated settings while searching: the required action is only to reveal and copy the ID.

Set the session privacy before inviting friends
If you are inviting friends, set the multiplayer session privacy to Private. This setting is separate from revealing the ID. The ID identifies the multiplayer session; the privacy setting controls whether invited players can join it under the intended access rule. Set privacy before distributing the value, then give your friends the ID shown by Show.
Session ID, Session Name, and save-file name are different
Several names appear around a Satisfactory save, and confusing them is a common reason for a failed join attempt. The multiplayer Session ID is the value exposed through the active session’s management menu. The Session Name is metadata stored inside the save itself. The filename ending in .sav is the file’s name on disk. They are not interchangeable.

The long numeric-folder explanation is reported with low confidence, but it is still useful as a warning: a number found in a local storage path is not automatically the multiplayer Session ID. Use the in-game Show control instead.

Step-by-step procedure with checks
1. Start from the correct game state
Open the game’s main menu and connect to the world as multiplayer. If you are already inside a single-player world, leave it and establish a multiplayer session rather than searching the single-player pause menu for an ID.
2. Open the session-management menu
Press Esc. Select Manage Session. This control belongs to the active session, so it is not expected to appear in the save browser before a world is loaded.
3. Open the settings page
Inside Manage Session, choose Session Settings. If the game shows a different but clearly equivalent settings label after an update, follow the current label that leads to multiplayer-session settings.

4. Reveal the hidden value
Locate Session ID and select Show. Until you choose Show, the value may remain concealed. Once revealed, copy it to the clipboard when the interface offers that action, or transcribe it carefully.

Give friends the revealed Session ID, not the Session Name displayed on the Load tab and not the .sav filename. If the session is meant for invited friends, verify that its privacy is set to Private before they try to join.
Troubleshooting “Unable to find any session with that ID”
Confirm that the host is using multiplayer
The first check is the host’s session type. A single-player session has no multiplayer Session ID. Have the host load the world as multiplayer, open the management path, and reveal the value again. Do not reuse an ID copied from a different world or an earlier session.

Check that the value came from Show
If the host copied a name from the save list or a number from a storage folder, the joining player is not using the multiplayer identifier. Repeat Esc > Manage Session > Session Settings > Show in the active session and share that displayed value.
Verify privacy
For an invitation-based session, set multiplayer privacy to Private. This does not change the ID; it ensures the session uses the intended access setting when friends attempt to join.

Recheck every character when typing
If copying is unavailable and the value is typed manually, compare the entered characters with the value currently revealed in Session Settings. A single transcription error produces a different identifier. Copy directly whenever the interface provides a clipboard option.
Account for changed labels
If the host cannot find Manage Session or Session Settings, the current game build may use different wording or placement than older guides. Complete the introduction if it has not been passed, then inspect the active session’s pause-menu management controls again. The labels reported by older guides are useful landmarks, not a guarantee that every version uses identical text.
Do not search the save folder for the Session ID
The Session ID is an in-game multiplayer join identifier, not a filename that you can reliably derive from a local save directory. Reported dedicated-server save locations include ~/.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/server on Linux and %LocalAppData%FactoryGameSavedSaveGamesserver on Windows. Those paths are not verified here, and service accounts may use different locations. Even if you locate a dedicated-server save, the path or filename should not be substituted for the value revealed by Show.
A compact checklist for the host
- Load the world from the main menu as a multiplayer session.
- Pass the introduction screen if Manage Session is unavailable.
- Press Esc.
- Open Manage Session, then Session Settings.
- Select Show beside the Session ID.
- Copy or accurately transcribe the revealed value.
- Set session privacy to Private when inviting friends.
- Send the Session ID, not the Session Name,
.savfilename, or a numeric save-folder name.
What the Session ID is—and is not
The Session ID is the value used to identify a multiplayer session for joining. It appears only through the active session’s settings, and it is available only when the world is running as multiplayer. It is not the name shown for a save, not the name of the file on disk, and not a number inferred from a SaveGames directory. When the menu route or terminology changes, the reliable test remains the same: open the current multiplayer session’s management settings and use the value exposed by Show.
